Happy Born Today, Christopher!

We arrived at the hospital this morning for our appointment at 8- got in early and began the c-section at 7:30.  Christopher was born at 8:02 am weighing in at 7 lbs 15 oz and 19 inches long. I was so proud of Matt- he actually looked over the sheet and watched them pull him out- body part by body part.

Christopher is absolutely precious and I have so enjoyed watching Matt with him.  It is so frustrating not being able to get out of bed to help him, but he is such a good daddy that he has done it all on his own. You all know how obsessed I have been with Matt since becoming pregnant- more so than normal which I didn't think was possible- and I can definitely see that continuing. Poor Mattie- but I think he seriously does like the attention. :)

Tomorrow I get to shower and walk around so I will definitely snap more pics- and hopefully get a good family one! :)

It's Like Christmas Eve...

Well, according to my dad it is. Or it could also be considered the night before a big game... Whatever it is, Christopher is coming tomorrow.
My parents came in Saturday afternoon and Matt's dad arrived Sunday. We had a family dinner together- homemade meatballs- yum- and just hung out playing cornhole and watching the Pens game outside! Very fun and a nice way to wrap up my pregnancy. Rocco didn't get to come on Sunday, but he did sleep with me Saturday night so I guess that's okay (even though he took up my entire side of the bed).
Today I had my pre-op bloodwork and 1,000 question medical history shenanigans and all went well, so we are set to go tomorrow morning. Matt and I have to be there at 6:30 and surgery is at 8. The only question I forgot to ask was about their tornado procedures.  Hopefully there aren't any storms tomorrow morning.
Thank you to everyone who has texted me, called me or posted on facebook- you guys are AMAZING. I know you all are so excited to meet little Christopher- so check the blog tomorrow. I will post a picture from my phone to the blog once we get upstairs after recovery.

Yay for Saturdays!!

Today was a good day! Christopher is moving like a crazy animal, which is good because he was awfully quiet yesterday. I had to eat like 10 marshmallows yesterday to try and get some action going. I guess he just felt like being lazy.

Anthony and Rocco came up for the weekend last night- this is the last weekend for just us three- mom and dad will be here next weekend and then Christopher for always after that!

He always seems to hate picture time.

We went to brunch at Henry's, which we never get to do because we normally go to the gym on Saturday mornings. And then the relaxation set in- well, once Matt figured out how to hook up the cable to the TV outside.

We watched the Braves game, some of the Masters, and ended with the Pens.

We had friends over and I literally just sat in the chair with my feet up for about 4 hours.  The only time I got up was to move my chair back to get back into the sun! :) duh. My friend Lisa is pregnant, too and due at the beginning on May... and we have the same doctors, so we always have stuff to share and discuss.  She is having a little girl. I am so glad we have reconnected with her and Micheal over this past year!! :) :)

Our neighbors Robert and Jennifer came over for a bit. They brought Christopher a gift last night... and a gift for me- an Oktoberfest beer for after he is born and Donut Shoppe coffee- WITH CAFFEINE! ahhh.

And that shall be it for today. I need to get the boys inside already because it is time for dinner. They were supposedly cleaning up 15 minutes ago but I still hear them talking and cornhole bags hitting the boards. Let's hope tonight isn't the night I need a ride to the hospital- cuz it sounds like this pregnant girl would be the driver. :)

Awaiting the Dynamic...

One thing Matt and I have been discussing lately is of course.... Stroonz.... and wondering what the dynamic between him and Christopher will be.  Stroonz isn't like most cats who ignore their owners and prefer to be left untouched.  He is IN YOUR FACE at all times.  Every day this week he has gone downstairs with Matt when he left for work... and 5 minutes later he comes back upstairs to cuddle with me in bed. He is so loyal.

Plus, he is quite techy- ipad, kindle, and remote!

Lately, his new obsession is the pack and play downstairs.  He has no interest in the pack and play upstairs, unfortunately, because it won't be used nearly as much as the one downstairs.  I had to resort to taking off the pack and play sheet and putting his blanket on.  When I took off the pack and play sheet, he went over to the vibrating seat and tried to get in. He really is loving all of his new toys!

My biggest fear is that a certain someone might be allergic to him- but I guess we will deal with that when the time comes. I'm allergic and I am fine. :) Stroonz isn't afraid to bite and scratch though so the first baby grab at him will be quite interesting!!! Hopefully Matt is around to handle that one.

Doctor Appt... one more to go!

Today we went for our second to last doctor's appointment.  Christopher still hasn't turned so we are going ahead with a scheduled c-section on April 17th.  Anyone know anyone with that birthday? I think I need to google famous people born on that day. Matt shares a birthday with Britney Spears. Maybe Christopher will have the same birthday as Jessica Simpson's baby. Hm. I treated myself to the haircut and nail time that I missed out on yesterday. Plus, I got in 2 hours of tanning on the back deck and am making some serious progress on the final book in the Hunger Games trilogy.  Hopefully it will be done before Spring Break is over!!

Spring Break!

It is officially Spring Break! Matt is at work and the temps are at 85 so I don't have to feel guilty about not hanging out with him, while I am laying out on the back deck! I do have a few "Christopher" things on tap for today- such as getting my nails done so they look nice at the hospital, maybe my haircut... and then a trip to Target to get some last minute things I desparately need- well according to other people that I desparately need- I personally don't think "granny panties" should be a desparate need for anyone!

I just found out that I can download a google plus app and then upload pics from my phone- so I may go take a few shots of the nursery and put them on here. I know we have a camera... and I know it's here somewhere. I will leave it to Matt to find it! :) He is better at those types of things anyway.
