Sunny Saturday... Soggy Sunday

Anthony says I don't mention him enough in the blog- so we will start with him.  His picture will even be the thumbnail when I post it to Facebook!

Anthony came up to spend the night Friday.  The whole reason was because he had to go to the baptism class at church to be the godfather for Christopher... well that's what the deacon told me when I went.  Anthony and I show up Saturday morning and the deacon doing that class said he DIDN'T have to be there! I don't think Anthony was too mad.  At least he got to come up and spend some time with us and Christopher.  The good thing about that happening for me was that we got to go walk in the park!  Matt, Christopher and I walked about 2 miles and then Matt had to go get his hair cut! Christopher went with Matt because I had to go to the gym.

Here is Christopher sitting next to Daddy as he gets his hair cut!

We spent the rest of the afternoon just hanging around the house until it was time to go see Camryn play softball out in Alpharetta.  You should have seen the houses that we passed on the way out there- we definitely went the "scenic route" thanks to navigation... and took about 50 turns to get there. It was crazy! We finally made it just in time for Christopher to eat.  It is amazing that everything we do revolves around Christopher's feeding times. We knew it was going to take 45 inutes to get there... and he was going to want to eat at 5:30, so we were out of the house by 4:30 to ensure a nice car ride.

Here he is with Aunt Cindy- I think he is demanding food!

Finally a picture of me and Christopher! We don't get many taken together since I am always the one taking the pictures!

smushed face

Time to go home!

We made it home in time to get a bath and eat dinner! He was so cuddly after his bottle- totally ready for sleep after his full day out in the fresh air!

We woke up today and went to our favorite brunch spot- The Old Mill. I swear Acworth people- their brunch is better than any other place... such variety.

Christopher slept through brunch. Sleepyhead.

Christopher also slept through our trip to the grocery store... I swear he misses so much from sleeping! We had to be sure to get to store this morning because it is going to rain here through Tuesday. (Looks like we are in for a boring Monday and Tuesday.) Once home I gave Matt and Christopher some daddy/son binding time and made lunch for the week, finished up laundry and ironed Matt's work clothes. We did put some Karo syrup in his bottle because he hadn't been to the bathroom in a couple of days.... and boy did it do the trick! :) I am always so happy that his diaper blowouts typically happen when both of us are home!

daddy/son time

We did do more today, but I can't blog about that quite yet... it's a surprise. :)

Here are some random pictures from our phones...

That's it for now... Have a great week!

What a Week!

Christopher and I have had such a good week. It was a little rainy at the beginning, but by Wednesday the sun was out and so were we!

We ran errands on Wednesday... the bank, Home Depot, and lunch with Daddy! It felt so nice to actually get up and shower and get dressed in something cute (I think I look cute everyday in my workout shorts and tanks, but you know... cute as in a dress.) So we go to Home Depot and when we get to the carpet department (I had to order an outdoor rug for underneath the rocking chairs.) there are all these cameras and huge lights.. and my heart stopped! I was like.. this is what happens on HGTV. I could be that girl in the store with her little son and out comes someone asking me if I am happy with my backyard...is there a project I need finished... you know. I kept looking around to see who was going to ask me something... but no. Just a stupid Home Depot commercial being filmed and they didn't ask me to be in that either. BUMMER.  We made it down to Matt's work and I fed Christopher in the car.  Matt came down partway through... thank goodness, because something started to smell... :) That was a fun diaper to change. And of course we had to go into another parking lot for to change him... really Matt? Lunch at Panera and back to Matt's work for him to show Christopher off to his co-workers.  Lucky ladies Kelly and Jessica got to cuddle him.

This picture is from when we went to Scottish Rite.
He loves to be held over the shoulder to look around.

Matt with his Boppy. It cracks me up when he puts it on.

Today (Friday) Christopher and I walked at Swift Cantrell with Julie! We walked 3 and a half miles. I worked up such a great sweat- Christopher had on the cutest little workout shorts! He is always so good when I walk- we always wake up, Christopher eats his morning meal, we both get our workout gear on, and then we leave for the park. It is such a nice routine! We normally are driving home right in time for his next meal. Soon when the weather gets warmer in the mornings we will walk downtown Acworth- it is so beautiful and shaded down there! After the park we came home, ate lunch and hit the pool for the first time! I was a little nervous, but our pool has these huge awnings that Christopher could sit under and it worked out perfectly! I laid next to him in a chair and chatted with my friends while he snoozed.

Christopher sleeping away at the pool.

Of course he woke up to be held for the last hour!

Auntie Dana!

This is from last Friday when Dana, Maggie and Mallory came to visit!

Holding his own bottle so I could take a drink of coffee!

Oh gosh- so precious!!!

Someone said they miss Stroonz pictures.... there ya go!

YAY for Christopher!

I always know it's going to be a good day when Christopher wakes up making noises- not crying- doesn't cry during his diaper change, lets me bring him downstairs and put him in his swing while I enjoy my breakfast and a cup of coffee (actually 2).  It was one of those days. :) And... all day yesterday I was praying that he wouldn't want to eat until 8:30 so that his schedule was okay for his 2 hour fast... and it was 8:30 when he started licking his lips to eat! AMAZING. I always tell him God knew Mommy couldn't handle a crazy baby, which is why I got him.

Christopher had his sonogram for his hips today.  I was slightly nervous- but since the doctors had told us before that they didn't hear popping I was thinkng he was fine.  We went down and picked up Matt from work and zoomed over to Scottish Rite.  Like I said Christopher had to fast for 2 hours beforehand- which really he didn't technically need to.  They make you do that so that you can feed them and make the baby stay still.  Thankfully Christopher could stay still by himself without the bottle, until he realized that it was almost 2:30 and time to eat! :) All is good with his little hips!

Hopefully the rain goes away early enough tomorrow morning so we can go walking! I am sure Christopher misses it. He is a creature of habit like his mama.

Oh and I know I have talked about burps before... but really people- how necessary is it??? Christopher is just not a burper.  He doesn't seem bothered by it either. I think he has spit up twice and they have been just a very small amount. WebMD (I know, I know) says try for a couple minutes and that some babies just aren't burpers. I think he must be one of them. Anyone else have this issue? Oh and we try all ways- over the shoulder, hunched over, sitting up straight, over the knee, swinging back and forth (seriously- someone said it worked and I will say I got a small burp today using this one), and rubbing circles on his lower back. Any others???? :)

Here's a video we found on Matt's phone when my parents were here. Enjoy!

Weekend Update... and Random Pictures!

Matt finally uploaded all the pictures from the I-Pad, both of our phones, mom's camera and my camera... so we have some new pictures.. I won't put them all up at once though.
First, I will tell you a few things we are really excited about.

1.  Cousin Kate is officially coming- June 21st and she is staying through the 25th.  I can't wait for baby Christopher to meet her.  She is like my little sister and I hope they have a close bond like her and I have!! :)

Cousin Kate is on the right. Pictured here with Rachel and Aunt Nancy!
When are yall coming???

We are very excited for Christopher to meet these lovely ladies.
2.  In a month, we will be in Nags Head!! So excited for our first vacation for the three of us.  We are going with mom and dad and Anthony and Rocco.  Plus, some of our other family members (cousins and such) will be there the same week! We have begun the list making. I should put a countdown on that one.

3.  Unfortunately our baptism date didn't work out, but we did get the next day- July 1st- which I guess is kind of better.  Now mom and dad will be in town so Matt and I will be able to go out for our 5 year anniversary dinner- Atlanta peeps- suggestions? My brother suggested Canoe.

Storytime:
The three of us (Anthony, Matt and I) were invited to a wedding shower on Saturday- an hour away.  I wasn't too keen on leaving him for the first time and being an hour away- a dinner a Henry's in downtown Acworth- okay... but an hour away was a little much.  So Anthony and I decided that we would go together and Matt would stay home with Christopher.  **Matt should totally be the one telling this story** Anyway, after I left Matt fed Christopher and he passed out.  Matt got to go over the Waidlers to watch baseball with Michael and Christopher slept the entire time. They got home and Christopher was still sleeping.  Well, he slept through his feeding time so Matt woke him and fed him (I okayed this.) THEN.... I have  no idea what happened to our quiet little baby.  I called Matt as I was dropping Anthony off and Matt said - DON'T GET ME FOOD. JUST GET HOME. wow. okay. Of course I did as I was told, but not without calling 5 minutes later to find out what was going on.  Matt said Christopher had been crying (screeching) for at least 15 minutes and nothing was making him calm down (and no temperature).  So of course I sped home and made it inside to hold Christopher and he stopped crying. He was just loving being held and looking around the room over my shoulder. Precious. Totally made me cry because I felt so bad for being gone and him and Matt having to go through screech-time. Matt decides to go out and get his dinner. As soon as he leaves- the screeching starts again. Thankfully it didn't last very long. I have no earthly idea what was wrong.  My mom said go give him a bath like you always do and cuddle him up in a blanket.  We went upstairs, undressed him, bathed him, put him in his little baseball pajamas and he was fine. Not another sound the whole night. I don't even think he screamed through his bath.  It was so sad holding him crying and feeling him getting all hot and sweaty and being upset about something and not knowing what it was.  He is way too young for separation anxiety right? Thoughts please????

Okay and now the pictures!

Matt and I had to pick 2 pictures to turn into canvas photos.  Matt had bought this thing off of Half Off Depot.  Most people probably use professional pictures- not us.  We used the pictures that made us laugh. :) They are the 2 above... car seat and tummy time.

Dad and Christopher.  This is from his latest trip to visit.

These are the baseball pajamas I was referring to.

When I was pregnant apparently I snored really bad.  Matt made me try out Breathe Right strips and took my picture in them. Jerk. They didn't work.

Rocco, the protector.

almost asleep
Michael and Christopher- this is when he was only days old.
The day I went to the spa.... this was Matt's setup.
Come on... burp baby!

Okay. That's it for now!! Hope you enjoyed some of the pics!! :)

PS- Because Christopher was Frank Breech, he has to go in for an ultrasound/sonogram and have his hips checked tomorrow since he is now 6 weeks old.  The doctors have all said they haven't heard or felt any popping- just have to be sure! Oh and he can't eat 2 hours before. GREAT!!!!

Countdowns..
Cousin Kate- 18 days.
Mom and Dad- 24 days.
Beach trip- 33 days.

Granny Apple

Mom and Dad made it home safe and sound last night.  They said they read the blog this morning before they went to work.  It must have put them in a good mood this morning- I certainly would have been super tired and cranky after flying in so late and having to work the next day.  Mom said it was funny how many names my dad has - that's only because he hasn't quite picked one yet.  Dad shows up on FaceTime and calls her Granny Apple (which is I think is hilarious- I love Granny Smith apples).  When mom was here when Christopher was born she would occasionally call herself Granny- It makes me think of The Beverly Hillbillies- which I did love Granny on there.  Christopher is so lucky because he has so many names to choose from when he finally starts talking. :)

(I am very curious as to how Christopher will say Stroonz's name the most though- maybe we should teach him what it means and just let him call him that.)

Christopher has taken 5 oz at each feeding today.  What a growing boy.  He ate 5oz at breakfast (8:45) and I thought for sure he would wake up during my lunch with friends today at 11:45 and be wailing.  But no- he made it all the way to 12:45 - I got to enjoy my lunch with friends.  I did feel bad when he wailed the whole way home though. Oops. I thought about pulling over but home was only 10 minutes away. Probably the longest 10 minutes of the day though.

He did wake up for Ms. Julie to get to hold him... and then looks like he fell back asleep.

We also played on our new activity mat today!

Granny Apple bought us some new clothes before she left.

Here is my project that I completed for Jenna- I gave it to her today so I can post it now. :)
She is getting married next weekend!

.... and Daddy just came home with more clothes!

I did forget to post this picture last night- We tried out the Ergo baby carrier that Ms. Becca recommended we get... (and thank you Granny Apple and Mommy'sDaddy for getting it!)

Adorable.

Have a great night!

Our Weekend

Let me start with this picture- the perfect start to my Friday.

so cute!

Nana (aka Mom) and Granddad, PapPap, Mommy'sDaddy (aka Dad) came into town this weekend. We have been waiting weeks for this and they finally arrived Friday night!

On the way to the airport!

Matt had taken Friday off from work so I got to go to the gym for the first time since February- what a wonderful feeling! I felt like I got a little bit of myself back with that outing! We pretty much spent the rest of the day waiting to go to the airport- and tried to make the day go by quickly by running a few errands and doing random things! Christopher also got to meet our old neighbor Barbara.  I sure do wish she was still next door- she had so much baby knowledge and Christopher was so good while she held him!

Christopher couldn't wait to eat- so he got fed in the parking lot of the Cherokee Tag Office before lunch at J Christopher's (which has really yummy chicken salad by the way!).

After visiting Barbara we laid on the floor with some toys- and ended up getting really sleepy.

I read Christopher a book and he passed out until it was time to go the airport.

I think easily my favorite part of the weekend was Saturday morning.  We all woke up and went to Swift Cantrell.  Unfortunately Anthony did something to his back so he didn't get to go but the rest of the family went.  It was so fun.  We walked two miles.  Dad and mom had never been there before so it was nice to show them someplace new (and someplace they could enjoy in their retirement- ha!) Afterwards, the men went to Home Depot for Matt's weekend project of staining the deck and mom and I went to Michael's for our weekend project (which I will post after it is delivered) and then to the GYM for my first training session back with Eddie! We aren't doing weight training yet- I need to do major cardio first so we did HIIT (high intensity interval training) and I think I did quite well for my first time back. I will say I do not think he took it easy on me at all! :) But Eddie being Eddie of course texted me the next day to make sure I was okay! I am so lucky to have such a great trainer (and friend)!

Post-workout: shiny face and sweaty hair. yikes.
me and Eddie

Matt and I were supposed to go out for date night on Saturday night- but it ended up being all of us.  It is more fun when we are all together anyway. We went out for a quick bite to eat at Parkside and Christopher slept the whole time.
Nana bought him shoes. Dad says companies only make shoes for babies because some stupid grandma is going to spend $10 just because they look cute on their grandkid- not for any purpose. Point proven.

Christopher also made it to church on Sunday morning.  I wanted to take him when we had extra reinforcements there.  He slept the whole time-right before communion he started getting squirmy so we took him out into the Narthex.  Now I definitely think he could have made it had we just ridden it out. He was 15 minutes past his normal eating time so we were a little on edge waiting for the big wail.

Nana bought Christopher the coolest thing from Hallmark.  They came out with these stuffed animals- only 6 actually- and the stuffed animals have 3 books.  You read the book and when you say certain lines, the stuffed animal adds more to the story (like a line or two). It is adorable. We got really lucky that the bear is named Christopher, since the others are like Bigsby and Jingle and other uncommon names. (They do have a Cooper and Abigail.) We read Christopher Goes to Sleep. Mom is going to get Christopher the rest of the books for him- one about spending the night at Grandma and Grandpa's and the other is a Bedtime Story.
Reading Christopher his story.

Have I ever mentioned how I hate pacifiers?

Christopher has hit his second growth spurt- why do these seem to happen when my mom and dad leave me? I am already emotional enough when that happens but then throw in a hungry little man every 2 hours- oh boy. We have lunch plans with my work buds Tuesday and Wednesday- I hope he cooperates! Nana and Pap left this evening- in fact on their latest flight ever.  They would normally leave in the afternoon, but now that Christopher is here they took the latest flight possible.  They don't even get into Norfolk until 11! What wonderful grandparents Christopher has... in fact, Mommy'sDaddy even slipped him a $20 before he left.  Thankfully Christopher is still young enough that I can take the money they gave him! (just kidding mom and dad. I will buy him a piggy bank or put in his bank account.)

And that is it for our wonderful weekend. I guess I will start the next countdown until my parents come back... June 27th... 30 days. Here we go. Thank god for FaceTime!

Until our next big adventure... :)
Have a wonderful night!
