Beach Trip!

Well, the long awaited beach trip is over. We had so much fun- beautiful weather, lots of sun and playtime in the sand and the water. Christopher seemed  extremely happy and content playing in the sand and splashing around. I will say that I have never seen him so excited to be at home. When we got home, he ran upstairs and looked into his room- MY BED! I MISSED MY BED! and then he ran into the playroom... MY PLAYROOM. I MISSED MY TOYS! and then he ran into our bedroom... MOMMY, YOUR ROOM! DID YOU MISS YOUR ROOM? Dear God yes I did, but most of all, I missed the door handle locks on the rooms. :) Christopher had his own room and the first night he appeared at the bottom of our bed... and scared the crap out of us. The second night, I asked him "Now what do you do if you wake up in the middle of the night?" (wanting him to say that he would call for one of us from his bed) but instead he said "I am going to go to the beach." So of course, I booby trapped every door to the outside every night. :) Needless to say, despite having the best bed, I did not sleep well and was so glad to have Christopher safe and sound in his room with safety handles when we returned.

Now the trip wasn't all peaches and cream. Christopher only napped twice of the 6 days we were there... and was quite the bear in the evenings. In fact, one night he actually locked himself in his room because he didn't want to go to dinner. They were the type of handles that you needed like a bobby pin to pop open (and I had none) and he couldn't unlock it... because he "locked" himself in the closet in his room. It wasn't technically locked, but it was those folding doors which took him forever to figure out how to get out of it, plus it was pitch black his closet. I banged on the door and yelled OPEN THIS DOOR, CHRISTOPHER and he replied in his sweetest voice- "I can't mommy. I locked in my closet." No, I did not pass out, but dear Lord, I was thinking about how we could get an axe to chop the door down for sure! After dinner, he was punk again and wouldn't get in his carseat... and then he wouldn't get out of his carseat. He was in bed by 7:00 that night. :)

There are really not that many pictures from our trip. I never took my phone down to the beach after the first day and really didn't have it on me much to take pictures. Enjoy the ones I did snap below!

We found a Portuguese Man of War on the beach. Totally thought it was an innocent jelly... Guess not. Mom and Christopher buried him up on the beach.

Chillaxing on the beach. We would go down around 11 and Christopher would sit in his chair and eat a peanut butter and jelly every day.

He also loved sitting in the sand. Matt would dig him a hole and then Christopher would cover himself up and play. I wasn't a huge fan of this.

Christopher and I sitting with our feet in the water. Well, his feet didn't quite touch so he had a bucket filled with water that he put his feet in. We sat like this for quite awhile- my little tanning partner.

On our way to Easter mass.

Getting ready for some serious sun on day one.

Beautiful! Christopher is a little fish.

Easter party fun at Ms. Jeanne's before we left!

All ready to rock and roll. We thought for sure Christopher would want to ride with Nana and Matt and I would get to drive down alone... not so much. And the iPad wouldn't work with the movies Matt downloaded... and reception on our phones sucked, but thankfully it was a pretty good trip down. Christopher spent a lot of time playing with his new Lego snowmobile that Nana bought him.

Best family photo we got before mass. I love church in a beach town. The church we went to was GORGEOUS with big glass door that opened right into the church.

Christopher rocking his first 17th Street t-shirt from Va Beach!

I was so over the pictures... Matt wanted Christopher to see the sunset and after dragging us down there 20 minutes early, we were all like "really, Matt??" :)

Totally random and spontaneous hug followed by "I love you, mommy."

Matt rented them a bike for the week! Christopher loved riding in it.

And some randoms...
Lunch at table at Miss L's.

Preparing for laying out.

Yellow day at daycare!

And last, but not least.. Matt's Facebook announcement about what we are having....

Hope everyone has a great week! Christopher turns 3 on Friday!! And he starts sports camp tomorrow. I told him there is one rule. He said "Keep your eye on the ball?" Well that and listen to the coach. :)

Is it Time for the Beach Yet?

The McDill family is soooo ready for some beach time. Spring Break cannot get here fast enough. The weather has been just beautiful here. After just a few days in the sun, Christopher's little arms are already tanner than Matt's.

Christopher is currently obsessed with "Daddy's toys." When I left the house the other day, Nana and Christopher were playing in the backyard... when I came home 30 minutes later, they were playing in the basement with all of Matt's old toys that his mom had saved for him! Musty smelling- for sure! Nonetheless, he has been thrilled to play with all of the helicopters, planes and the large bucket of Legos- especially the Lego people. Christopher is learning about space at preschool right now and asked me earlier this week to buy him a Lego astronaut. What just happened to be in Daddy's toys?!?! Not one- but two Lego astronauts!

He got his Citrus Lane box this week, too. In it... his very first wallet. He has $7 in there right now. I think we might have to make a trip to the dollar store soon to see what he wants to buy. (Or maybe I need to teach him a dollar to the church, a dollar in the piggy bank and five for yourself...) That was quite a sad moment when I saw the wallet- I was like WHAT?!?! Mommy controls your money. You aren't ready for a wallet!!! He asked if he could have some "coins" to put in zipper pouch... and then I found them lying all over the carpet. Typical irresponsible boy.

Enjoy the pictures!
This is what Christopher picked out at the Disney store. He loves his "Hiro" mask- some guy from Big Hero 6. I have no idea.

Eating brunch at Dogwood Terrace before our big day out.

Uncle Anthony babysat Christopher this night while Matt and I went out. It was their first night just the two of them. Anthony brought Christopher's favorite dog with him.

Celebrating Dr. Seuss Day. (2 teachers' kids for sure!)
Playing soccer with his buddy, Luke.

The boys were wild together!!!  Poor Ms. Jeanne.

They had so much fun yelling to each other, chasing each other... and telling one another what to do.

I don't know who in the world decided to bring and start the whole "cupcakes during reception time after church" but I would like to give them a piece of my mind.

Playing with Nana in the playroom.

Pretending he is Jake. Christopher likes to be Jake and Handy Manny.

Taking in his view of the Notre Dame baseball game.

Our little lucky leprechaun!

Have a great rest of the week.

Happy March

I cannot believe it is March already? I feel like just yesterday I was working my way through the 25 Days of Christopher! :) That also means that Christopher will be 3 very, very soon. WOW.

Christopher is still totally into playing and pretending right now and thank the Lord, he plays so nicely by himself. He will get all of his little toys and pretend they are different people and give them voices and I especially love when he makes one of them say things that Matt or I say a lot. My favorite is "Hey- check this out."

Enjoy the pictures!

This was Christopher's Valentine's present. Could he have been any more excited?!?!

So Matt got PS4 and Christopher LOVES to watch him play this motorcycle game. If you want him to clean up fast, you say... Daddy will play the motorcycle game. ZZOOOMMM! The room is clean. Anyway, he lined up all of these toys like this and I asked what he was doing- and he said he was making a track for a motorcycle. So clever, right?

Nana and Christopher playing hockey. Poor Nana always gets the bad jobs.

Chowing down. These apples were the size of his head.

What do you do when it snows and you don't have to go to daycare??? You invite over your friend from daycare. :) Austin said, Christopher- what's this? Christopher said, Here let me show you.

Throwing snowballs at mommy and granddaddy through the window.

Finally getting to play in the snow! The boys had so much fun throwing snowballs at each other and going for boogie board rides.

Christopher had to get fitted for his ring bearer suit this weekend. We went with Uncle Anthony so that he could do it first and Christopher could watch. Then we went to Uncle and Sara's house and he got a new thing of Legos! It was like Christmas. :)

Sunday we went and saw Paddington Bear. I can't say it was a great movie, but it wasn't too terrible. Christopher was awesome during it... but then again, I can't say the other kids in the theater were.  :)

And some videos...
just some good ole farting (facebook video!)

That's it- have a great week!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! Christopher sang me this today. In case you can't understand him.. You are my best friend.. I love you. He also sang it last night at dinner and before going to bed. The other night we were trying to videotape him saying his bedtime prayer... but then daddy had to take his milk away. Enjoy the pictures!

Of course Christopher had to get a power wheels to ride on at Nana and Granddaddy's house!
One of my students parents was selling this and I jumped right on it! Christopher will love riding this during the spring and summer over there!

They planted a seed for preschool and Christopher said he wanted to take it to Nana's house. Thank goodness because I would have killed it by now. Nana and Granddaddy help Christopher water it and keep it in the sunlight and it is growing like crazy!

Christopher looked so cute this day. He was so excited when Matt got him dressed and came in the room yelling... I'm a baseball player! But when we got to daycare... he wanted to take it off. :( I made him take a picture first before he could remove it.

Why have I never given him corn on the cob before?
He loved buttering it up and sticking the holders in the end.

We had to put our sweet kitty down yesterday. This was from a couple of days ago. Stroonz was too weak to jump on the bed so he was laying on the floor next to the bed while Christopher watched TV. We had to take him to vet many times over the past month and when I would come home, Christopher would always say YAY- Stroonz is all better and I would have to tell him he is still really sick and that we have to give him more medicine. Instead of coming home after the doctor yesterday, we met Christopher out to dinner so he wouldn't run to us asking about Stroonz. He asked at dinner where Stroonz was and began looking under the table. All I could handle at dinner was telling him that we had to leave him at the doctor. He hasn't asked today, but I am sure we will have to have the talk soon.

This is what Christopher looks like when he pretends he is going to preschool. He made Nana pretend that the other day. They both had bags and hats... and they sat around and shared their toys and had storytime.

Learning a little geography with Daddy.

The Valentine's party at school.
Christopher took Fruit Roll-Ups with "I like the way you roll" tags.

My little love bug.

Posing.

I hope everyone has a great day full of lots of love!
