Poor Baby...

I think this picture pretty well sums up what this post is going to be about! It has been almost 12 months and Christopher has not been sick once. He has had the occassional runny nose, not lasting more than a week and all but one of those were accompanied by teeth. I took him to the doctor yesterday after he cried the whole way home from Matt's work because he has his first ear infection! This certainly explains Mr. Grumpybutt though from Monday! The doctor seemed none too concerned- well he does have a litlte fluid in there... So we got our meds and this is what he did when we got home. Not for long because you know he can't sit still for longer than 5 seconds, but long enough for me to snag this cute pic! I actually thought he was in good spirits when we got home. He carried on a huge conversation with our PestBan guy about ants!

This is before we went out to lunch! Twirling in daddy's chair- hopefully Christopher put a magic "good luck-get a lot of starts" potion on daddy's chair!

One of Christopher's "birthday" presents was this painting for his bathroom! It looks so cute. I may not have hung it perfectly... so that picture will have to wait. Mom is coming this weekend and it seems like a job for her! I have one thing left to do in there... but that involves going to Ikea. Bleh. I hate driving downtown. Have you seen the pins where you take the spice racks from Ikea and turn them into bookshelves? I want to do that on the wall right next to the toilet. Just a couple for some leisurely reading.... :)

First off- I know you love my pants! I think my dad bought them.... 1975? Does that sound right? They used to be navy blue... they are purple now and are my favorite pajama pants! This was right before Christopher's morning nap. A glorious 2 hour nap and had there not been 3 huge bees flying around out back I may have been able to get more than an hour of sun today!!

We invited over Heather and Grayson for a little playdate today. It took Christopher awhile to warm up as it always does but after a bit they played... or just wanted the toy the other one had. I guess at this age that is playing?

And here we are NOW. Well, almost 2 hours ago. Christopher played, cried, laughed, etc for 25 minutes... and all I wanted him to do was TO GO TO SLEEP! Mommy was tired. And the moment he goes down- BAM. Maybe I should write the blog. Maybe I should do some summer shopping. Maybe I should make the rice for dinner. Maybe I should do some banking. REALLY? But here we are... and I have done all of the above... except nap.

I have figured out how to upload Anthony's video as well! Here is he jumping from plank to plank in mud. When we saw him on Sunday he was all bruised and cut up from this obstacle! Enjoy.

1,2,3..... No More Bottles for Me!

Well, they did it. They took away all my bottles. I knew something weird was going on because I stopped getting a bottle at Ms. Jeanne's a couple weeks ago and was getting this new white liquid stuff. I wasn't a huge fan of it at first, but then Ms. Jeanne put some banana yogurt with it.. and I gobbled it right down!

I woke up Saturday and mommy and daddy were saying.. "Well, I thought we were waiting til Monday." "Why wait- let's just take them now." "But that means no more bedtime bottle already? I thought I had 2 more with him." "I just bought a whole thing of formula. What am I going to do with that?"

Needless to say when we came downstairs there was no cuddling on the couch with a bottle... there was just a sippy cup of milk, a little pancake and some banana! I gobbled that milk right down. I don't even need it flavored to drink it! It was kinda weird at first, but it was also kinda cool because me and mommy sat there eating breakfast together! We had some great conversations! :) I didn't get a nighttime bottle either! They read me some books- gave me a little milk in my cup and that was it! I am growing up so much. Soon I will be one!!!!! Can you believe it??!?!? Mommy and daddy are teaching me how to blow now so that I can blow out some candle... (Like mom will ever let me near fire.)

Here are some pictures from my week....

We came home from daycare this past week and our neighbor Miss Tiffany was home! I just love her accent. She sounds NOTHING like mommy. She is always saying how "precious" I am, too so obviously I love her! She let me use this cool Lightning McQueen car that her son has outgrown! My fingers were feeling lazy so I made mommy press the button and walk around all hunchback so I could ride in it! Check it out here...  https://www.dropbox.com/s/msjhx615rc256mv/IMG_2773.mov

Mommy says only girls with long legs can sit on hoods of cars... I am not quite sure what she means by that. Maybe I will ask Uncle Anthony. That sounds like something he would know about.

Nicholas let me ride in his truck! He is always zooming around me as I am "walking" around pushing my toys and Miss Tiffany always says "Watch out for Christopher!!!"  At least I got in there this time. The next time I wanted to get in he told me I was too little... so I have been drinking my milk so that I can get nice and big and then I won't be too little.

Daddy walked in with my bottle! I couldn't wait to get that thing in my mouth. Had I known they were going to take it from me days later, I would have taken longer to drink it!

Do you LOVE the outfit daddy brought home for me? Apparently daddy wanted some new video game and mommy only agreed as long he bought me and her something and this is what I got...WHAT IS THIS? A ferret with a heart MOM tattoo, a stache, eye patch and a pirate hat. Dear Lord- I think I am in love. Do you think daddy is going to buy me a ferret, too?!?!?!

I love reading... and I love my chair! Mommy was out getting her brows done and when I woke up from my nap, daddy put me in this chair and gave me a new book!!! Nana loves when I cross my feet so this picture is for her.  However, I am not impressed with how I have to get out of this thing. Daddy kept laughing as he watched me try to get out... for 3 minutes! He did take a video of it but that is a really long video!

We played outside any chance we got on Saturday! Nana had sent me some packages for my birthday and mommy called her and asked if we could open this one early. It's a tunnel and I won't say I am scared to get in.... but I am just not "ready" to get in.

I am definitely interested in it.... and I like to look in and "sniff" around. My mommy and daddy have both been through it, but not me. I am waiting for Uncle Anthony to get in there and then MAYBE I will go through!

Uncle Anthony is the toughest guy I know!!! You should have heard about all the crazy things he did this past weekend.. Something about jumping in mud and getting shocked?!?! Yikes. I was hoping he would come back with a "Future Tough Mudder" shirt for me, but no. :( We took him out for a yummy breakfast Sunday morning as a way for him to refuel after such a rough Saturday! Mommy is working on getting some of his videos uploaded on here so that you all can see how tough he really is! :)

Zonked.

I spent the day with mommy yesterday since it is Spring Break.... and I am totally getting some teeth! I was clicking my teeth together, drooling everywhere, and just being downright fussy! Today I am at daycare. No, not because of yesterday. Mommy had an appointment for her car this morning, so I had to go! She didn't want me waiting in the waiting room with her for 2 hours. We are going to see daddy for lunch though when she picks me up!! :) :)

Mommy says if it is raining one day she will update again while I am napping... otherwise she will be sitting outside reading a book and getting sun, so yall will have to wait! :)

Hoppy Easter!

Today marks 2 things- Christopher's 1st Easter and my one year blogiversary!!! :) :) In the past year I have written 96 posts and have gotten 9,377 page views! That's just crazy!! In case you missed my very first post (and trust me it really isn't much) check it out here! It's nothing to write home about, but I do think the ending is kinda fitting.... since Matt is in charge of dressing Christopher!

On to Easter....
Family shot!

Christopher's Easter basket! He got 5 Easter board books, a Yankees shirt, Braves wind up toys, a Yankees sippy cup and a Notre Dame duck! Very sportsy. The duck was supposed to be for his birthday, but I thought he kinda went with the Easter theme.

This is the best I could get!
Christopher wouldn't take his eyes off of Rocco long ago to actually look at the camera. It was so nice having Anthony here this morning.... he helped me make my ham and cheese sliders and kept Christopher in his room for a bit so we could clean up without him crawling all over the place.

Christopher and his cousins.

Do you love my duck?

Getting ready to go outside and play after the rain!

Had to change into some pants because Christopher wanted to crawl around everywhere! Don't you love his bat and ball??? That was his Easter present from Ms. Jeanne! it came in a wrapper and looked just like a carrot!

Mommy and Christopher sharing a french fry!

Christopher's first time eating ice cream! I am sure this had to feel so good in his mouth. My friend Becca said my last blog post sounded like molars coming in.... and from what I researched, she sounds right! I haven't been able to get my fingers back there but today when he yawned I think I saw something white in the back. Needless to say, he has been getting some Motrin to help his grumpy butt.

We let Christopher be naked this evening. It was so warm in our house. I hate when the weather is starting to change so you don't need the heat during the day but it still drops down low enough to need it at night. We figured he could play around with no clothes! The first thing he did was crawl up to the couch and throw his leg up on it. He is nowhere near able to pull himself up on that yet, but without clothes on, his leg went way higher!

Playing with daddy after dinner... even though here he looks like he is watching tv. :) I can attest that he is NOT because we had music playing!

A video to leave you wanting more Christopher....

And that's it! Have a great week! 5 more days and it is Spring Break!!!!

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

The Good: Spring has sprung and the weather is starting to warm up again! It was a cold start to the week but by Thursday and Friday the weather was beautiful in the afternoons, which meant playtime outside for Christopher! It also meant there was beautiful weather for his Easter Egg Hunt at daycare!!!

There are supposed to be whiskers on his face but we are just thankful we got a nose! I also forgot to put on his bunny ears when we were hunting for eggs. Yes, Ms. Jeanne made them all bunny ears and each kid had their own because she did them according to their head size. How in the world with little kids like this- I don't know. I don't think I could even do one!

Someone is trying to steal his egg. I may or may not have thrown an elbow. Christopher was so good about picking up the eggs and then I would shake his arm really hard so that he would drop the egg in the basket.

Christopher was so cute with this egg. It was a big one and he just was standing there shaking it! I kept saying... come on. Take a step. I should have nudged him forward a little, but we were in the exact spot where another little girl fell and bonked her head so I didn't wanna chance it being a jinxed spot. :)

There we go! Full on (without the whiskers) bunny!

Christopher got to sit at the big kid table and eat his Goldfish! I cannot believe he can just sit there like that. Sad. Christopher kept stealing Goldfish from the kid next to him... and that kid kept stealing Goldfish from the little one next to him. The grass isn't always greener, boys.... (In Christopher's case it actually is though because the boy next to him had WHOLE Goldfish. I didn't realize that he could eat Goldfish (so I broke his up) which makes me very happy because I do love me some Goldfish!)

Thankfully a little girl from school spends the afternoons there so she was my picture taker! Matt has been super busy (so he says) so he had to work and couldn't come to the party. She took so many pictures that my space was full! These were just some of the highlights.

The Bad: Someone was Mr. Grumpypants 2 days at daycare this week. Who knows why but he was just not his normal self this week. He didn't eat very well those 2 days and he didn't exactly take the best naps. Ms. Jeanne said he got up from one of his naps and NOTHING would make him happy- not even a pretzel!

He refused to get into his highchair at dinner at Wednesday. The only way I could get him in was to lure him in with banana. And then he was the pickiest eater... on stuff he normally eats! So on Thursday... I made him all of his favorites so that I didn't have to go through that again!

Black beans with garlic.... and macaroni and cheese... and for dessert- WATERMELON! yummmmmmm!

The Ugly: Holy God I cannot get him in his carseat. He is a strong little boy! Sometimes he gets right in.... and sometimes I start to sweat and he starts with the tears. Thursday it took me 9 minutes to get him in his carseat- 9 MINUTES!!! We were supposed to go to the mall and see the Easter Bunny but after that- there was no way I was going through that again in a mall parking lot. No thank you.

And just a few random pics...

I love my daddy.

BLACK BEANS AGAIN!?!?!?!

Sock lover.

See yall tomorrow for a First Easter update!

It's Here!!! It's Here!!

Surprise!!!! Do you love it?!?!?!  I am so thankful for Dana at 3rd Grade Gridiron for guiding me in the right direction!! I had been searching and searching for a baseball blog for Christopher but couldn't find any until she directed me to the right people! Thank goodness for fellow teachers! Misty at Think, Wonder and Teach and Erika with Honey Bunch Blog Design did the template for me! We will use this one for awhile and then when I get another itch to change it up, we will see what we find! :) :)

Since I am updating... here are a few shots from the day!

I "think" this is Christopher's shot for his birthday invitation. We shall see!

The little boy across the street came over to see if Christopher could come out and walk. I told him I had to unload the dishwasher first so he kept Christopher busy while I did that by playing with him in the window.

Lunch at Miss L's today!

Christopher playing this morning. It's only 38 seconds.. Yor for sure want to watch the end!

Tiny Update- 11 months!

Here is Christopher's 11 month picture. I cannot even begin to tell you how difficult this picture was. You can probably tell since it does not have him sitting on the couch like all of the others AND this is the best picture- enough said!

Christopher and Stroonz were playing this morning. Stroonz scratched my hand up pretty bad in the midle of the night so I was a little nervous about this situation... not my idea of a fun way to start the day, but they got along.

Christopher cannot get enough of the cat door. He loves watching Stroonz go in and then spying on him while he is in there.

My little reader!

That's it for today! Just wanted to show you the 11 month picture! :) Happy Friday!
