Random Christopher Stories

After I get done blogging I always remember stories that I mean to write about! It is so frustrating- I really wish I could sit down and blog each day... or at least write them down on notebook paper so I wouldn't forget them when it came time to blog. Today's post is just going to be a bunch of random stories that make me smile.

1.  I mentioned in my previous post that Christopher used the bathroom as an excuse to get out of the car on the way home from Florida. That wasn't the worst part...it was trying to get him back IN the car seat that was the big deal. So I turned to bribery. We walked over to the huge vending machine (oh did I mention we were at a rest area...) and I told him he could get anything he wanted. I pointed out cookies and Skittles and gummy worms and M & Ms. Christopher just kept looking and finally pointed and said "I want the hot dog." WHAT?!?! What hot dog was what I was thinking and then I see the gross vending machine beef stick pack with the waxy cheese inside. No way. That cannot be what he wants. Oh it is... and if it will get him in the car, he can have it. I love me a good Slim Jim from the store, but out of the vending machine- GROSS. But whatever would get him in the car was what he was going to get. Hot dog it was!

He looks happy right?!

2. While driving over the very high bridge to St. Pete, Christopher starts singing London Bridge is falling down, falling down...

3. Nana was pouring Christopher's Capri Sun into his cup and he started to sing tip me over and pour me out... (He is quite the singer!)

4. Every night we sit in Christopher's bed to read a book and say his prayers and then I am banned from the room. Seriously, I mean banned. As soon as we say Amen Christopher says GO MOMMY. I do get a "love you" out of him as I am leaving the room, but that's only when Matt tells him to respond. The other night when I was in there and Christopher wanted to me to leave, Matt said "You are going to make mommy run away!" and Christopher responded with "Go. Run away." Thankfully, my feelings aren't hurt because up until then he is very loving towards me- he is just ready for his alone time with Matt. They always sing 5 Little Monkeys after I leave and then Matt leaves the room too. I listen in the monitor and I hear- DADDDDDY! SAY LOVE YOU! Matt says love you, C says love you, Matt says love you more and C says love you Jeanne. REALLY?!?! What a nut. Christopher had been saying this a couple times and Matt told me to turn the monitor up and try to figure out what he was saying. Jeanne for sure. I am sure Ms. Jeanne will be happy to know that she is the last thing he thinks about before falling asleep!

5. I am always amazed at what Christopher remembers. I know that he is getting memories and all but I guess I just assumed it would be more short term memories for now. I know nothing about the brain so I should just shut up about that. Anyway... when we were driving home, we told Christopher we were going to be in the car for a long time and he said "I go airport. I go in airplane." Yes, Christopher we all would rather be in an airplane and home in 1 hour. Then tonight we were watching Doc McStuffins... and they were singing a seat belt song and I asked Christopher When do we have to wear a seat belt? and he said he wore a seat belt when he got on the airplane. I, of course, was expecting the car as an answer, but I guess he doesn't really wear a seat belt in the car- I always say I have to strap you in. It just amazes me how he remembers such a small detail from our trip to WV like putting on a seat belt!

6. When Nana would take Christopher somewhere while we were at the beach, he would say Mommy, I be a good boy... before I even had the chance to remind him. :)

VIDEO TIME!

now batting...  (facebook video repeat!)

Showing off his self portrait this morning. Daddy took it to work to hang up.

Chowing down on some apple. He always knows who to go to for apple.

He was a horrible eater this weekend. It is so hard to understand how someone can not be hungry at breakfast, lunch or dinner time. I took this picture to prove to Matt that he actually ate his dinner last night. Black beans and brown rice... and he loved it. FINALLY. Everyday I ask him what he has for lunch at daycare and he never answers me. Today he finally answered with carrots and mac and cheese. He was close... they had red beans and rice with crackers and carrots, raisins and bananas. :)

Telling me he was number one!

Richard took the crazy maniac and Nico outside after dinner.. phew!

Cheesin at daddy's work. Christopher loved being there! We were so lucky it was a snack day lunch on the Friday we were off!

Literally. Batman.

I am sure there are so many other sweet stories to share. I'll get a notepad.
Have a great week!

St. Petes and Jeets

We had the best time on our vacation this week! We headed down to St. Petersburg (St. Petes) to see the Yankees play and it turned into a beach trip too! Christopher was so excited to be back at the beach and to go to a ballgame! If you ask him about his vacation, he will tell you he saw "guanas" and went to a ball game but "I not go on the field" (insert sad face from Christopher). He also didn't get to see Jeter (Jeets) play because he sat out the game Monday night, but I got to see him! :)
The 8 hour ride down was awesome. I was super nervous about the whole pee thing with him, but he did really good. We only stopped three times, which was way less than I aniticpated. The ride back was a-whole-nother story. It took us almost 10 hours to get back due to traffic and Christopher has learned that if he says he has to go potty- everyone jumps to get him to the potty. We had a little boy crying wolf. :) Needless to say, we will be reading that fable soon.
I love this Fall Break thing! When we got back last night we decorated for Fall. Christopher was loving seeing his Halloween toys and dancing stuffed animals. This morning he is busy playing with the turkey that sings "Turkey in the Straw" and pretending the empty Fall boxes are presents.
Enjoy the pictures!
Our first night! We read our "Let's Go Yankees" book to get ready for the game the next night! We took all of our baseball books for this trip, including his new Yankees ABC board book.

Dinner at Crabby Bill's when we first got there. You try keeping a 2 year old in the seat to eat dinner after making him sit in a car seat for 8 hours. Oh my heavens.

Me: Christopher- let me take your picture for Daddy.
Christopher: You NOT take my picture for Daddy. I play.

Chillaxing with a Pri-Sun and Goldfish. This was after our LOOOONNNNGGG walk. Even though we didn't get very far, it certainly took a long time. Christopher stopped to pick up almost every shell- not the big ones either... all the little itty bitty ones.

Looking at the iguanas! They had a huge cage that had 8 iguanas in there. Christopher looked at them multiple times a day.

Trying to get Bella to get in the cage at Aunt Nancy's.

I guess if the dog won't get in... then you just get in!

Wednesday it rained most of the day so what do you do when it rains... play pool...

and put your bathing suit on and run in the rain!

Sleepy boy at the Yankees game! He slept until we got down to our seats and when he woke up he was so surprised!

So excited to go to the ballgame. Since Christopher has learned to say that he wants to go to a ballgame, we have taken him to 3- Braves, Rome Braves and now the Yankees. On the way home we told him baseball was almost over and he was going to have to start watching hockey and football... Granddady- you take me to a football game?

Heading out!

Dad and I went to a game the next night without Christopher! It was the tribute to Derek Jeter night. So thankful that I got to go to one with my dad!

Playing in the water with Nana.

Enter Sandman. (only a few will get it... but it's only appropriate)

Back to the ballgame! (Sorry for the out of order pics. I am trying to write this, make dip for Matt and entertain Christopher!) This was after Christopher spent the first 2 innings running around the stadium. He was ready to watch the game!

Watching the game. He thought he was going to catch a foul ball so he sat with his hands up quite a bit.

Saying bye to Pap! Christopher was so excited to see him. When I got him out of the car he said,
I like Pap.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Fall Break!
Back to work on Monday.

Birthdays and Baseball

Don't ask me where I have been. Blame it on Comcast. We haven't had internet since Tuesday! I tried blogging from my phone but that was just near impossible. When we called Wednesday... Sunday was the first available appointment and here we are- back up and running!

Mom and I celebrated birthdays on Wednesday! Christopher loved singing happy birthday to us and giving presents. (For some reason though, when he sings happy birthday he puts in a little boy's name from a party we went to back in July! Must have been a pretty memorable party for Christopher!)  Nana had made one of those handprint dough prints with Christopher for me and Christopher gave Nana a "Nana" charm for her Pandora bracelet. Christopher was so excited about eating CAKE - it's all we heard about from the time mom brought it... but after stuffing his face with baked ziti, he didn't have much room left for cake. The craziest thing about our birthday evening was that we spent it with the fireplace on! Remember internet down... well how about an air conditioning unit that WON'T TURN OFF. I came in from work on Wednesday to a house that was 61 degrees! Holy cold. (Not all conincidences... we had a bad storm come through Tuesday and sent everything into a tizzy.) Christopher kept saying he was cold and asking for his jacket. I think he went to bed that night with 3 blankets, socks, and winter pajamas.

Christopher got to wear underwear to daycare this week! When Matt went to get him dressed Tuesday morning, it was all Matt could do to get him in a Pull-up. Starting Wednesday he did get to wear underwear though! He was so excited and so proud. He had the biggest smile on his face telling Uncle Anthony about wearing underwear to school!

Christopher started pre-school on Tuesday! He is learning about the body this month. This is his puppet he made the first day! When we got in the car this day, he asked me to take his picture to send to daddy! The next day he made a bobblehead and is learning the song and movements to "head, shoulders, knees and toes."  They are also learning about being polite and saying please and thank you. I'm crossing my fingers that the "thank thank" stays for a little while longer.

Just practicing baseball!

We took Christopher to a football game Friday night- we went to see North Cobb High School play. He sat on Matt's shoulders for most of the game and loved watching the boys get hit.

En route to the game. Thrilled. He started singing "Take me out to the football game" as we were heading there.

Yes this is all we do...

Playing at the lake!

College football Friday!

Playing at daycare. Christopher and Luke were going headfirst backwards down the slide. Matt didn't know about this until he went to help Christopher in the bathroom and I heard "Why does Christopher have pinestraw in his butt?"

And on to some videos...
throwing football
playing baseball with pap
french fry challenge
thanking uncle and sara for new shorts
wake up the echoes
me the man
playing tennis

We have to make it through this week and then we are heading to Florida Sunday! (except for Matt. Poor guy.) Christopher is all ready to spend a few days at the beach and heading to the Yankees game! I have started working on getting together our themed books for this trip- baseball! Christopher got this super cool ABC Yankees board book to take with us! He is going to work really hard to get it signed! :)

Have a great week!
