Caleb is Here!

We were all set to be at the hospital this morning at 10:30 for a C-section at noon. But apparently, that wasn't going to work for Caleb. We went to visit Christopher Wednesday night, who was staying at my parent's house, and when we got home, I started having contractions. (I suggest that everyone get a best friend who is a Labor and Delivery nurse- thanks Amy- lots of texts and phone calls later...) We came to the hospital around 3 that morning.... got an epidural and just hung out and slept until about 2pm. Caleb came into the world at 4:04. Christopher came to see him shortly after that. He had spent the day with mom and dad being spoiled- trip to the mall to ride on the train and visit the Disney store. He also picked out a little stuffed animal to give to Caleb (which when he saw him for the first time, he threw tossed it at him and said Here, Baby Caleb with a grin on his face.) Caleb has been a super quiet little baby. I guess the first 24 hours are a lot of sleeping. The only time he has cried was when getting a bath and when getting his first diaper changed. He is not as big eyed as Christopher but he seems to be just as alert. I definitely think he looks A LOT like Matt- has his eyes for sure.
Anyway I will let you see the pictures! Enjoy!

Caleb's first Facebook picture.

Christopher trying to make Caleb laugh.
When we told him to say goodbye to Caleb, he walked over and tickled his feet.

He loves to hold babies.

Hanging out this morning.

Matt's favorite shot of him.

Swaddled up and ready for bed. He slept so good last night.
Now that the 24 hours are almost over, I am sure that will change tonight.
At least we will be at home.

Got his circumcision outfit on- that's where he is now.
As soon as he gets back and gets his 24 hour shots- we are out!

Thanks for all the sweet Facebook comments and texts! Enjoy your weekend!
Be kind.

Wedding Weekend Part 2.

Matt came to me the other night and said "Let's look through the pictures from last weekend." I was like YOU HAVE PICTURES?!?! I forgot that Matt actually had his phone on him, so here are a few more shots from our weekend.

The Sunday before the wedding was Wedding Prep Sunday. Matt took Christopher to the movies to see the Minion movie.

Before the rehearsal, Matt took Christopher and some family to the GA Aquarium.

This is me and Christopher on the way to dinner from rehearsal at the church. The bus driver took the long way to the dinner because we had some time to spare... and Christopher fell asleep with about 20 minutes left in the ride. His head kept hitting the hard metal part on the side... so my arm got a little bit of a workout holding that head up.

Christopher and the flower girl Catherine waiting to be called into the reception. Christopher wanted her to dance with him, but she said she was embarrassed. (And I was just informed they were touching tongues!! What in the world?!?!)

Waiting on the reception. Cheesy smile. I hope he got some nice smiles in for the pictures from the actual photographer.

Family selfie at the reception.

Playing around with his cousin Sarah before we left Sunday morning. He kept calling her his "lady" until I convinced him just to ask her what her name was.

Rocco pictures...

Christopher made them a tent.

And he loved getting on the floor to act like a dog.

Enjoying some morning time together. Rocco loved Christopher's Mickey couch.

We were ready like 10 minutes early every day last week. Christopher would bounce out of bed knowing that Rocco was there. That meant Dunkin Donuts coffee every morning! YUM!

And now some randoms from the week...
We had popsicles on the deck after school on Friday. Christopher said, Mommy this is so nice. It is so quiet. (That was until the dog next door came out and barked like a wild one at Rocco- who just stared at the gate.)

Playing at the pool on Saturday. There were like maybe 10 people at the pool- it was so relaxing.

Dancing in the rain one evening.

We celebrated my birthday on Monday at school since I will not be there for my birthday... Christopher loved the chocolate cupcakes!

At the Luke Bryan concert. Matt had just mentioned to me that LB was in town and how it would be fun to go.... and then his cousin texted us and asked if we wanted tickets! WHAT!?!?! For sure! Mom was out of town, so Ms. Jeanne offered to babysit as a gift to us- Christopher was beside himself all day waiting for her to get to our house. This morning when he woke up, it was "Ms. Jeanne- I'm awake!" The concert was great!

Having dinner with Ms. Jeanne.
(and a cupcake that I completely forgot were in the microwave...)

And that's it!
Have a great week! My last day of work is Tuesday because Caleb is set to come on Friday.
Be kind.

Wedding Weekend

Can I say T.I.R.E.D?!?!? What a fabulously fun weekend, but my butt is officially whooped! My feet are actually swollen and I am not quite sure where my ankles went, but all the dancing and fun made it worth it.
We spent the night at the hotel Thursday, Friday and Saturday, even though the wedding was here in Atlanta. It just made everything so much easier. We got to visit with everyone and not worry about heading home at the end of the night. I got the pleasure of sleeping with Christopher in the King bed and Matt slept on the pullout- but I am pretty sure that he got the better sleep. When I woke up to a weird smell and realized Christopher's toes were in my nose, I was regretting my decision to accept the bed. The only time we ever sleep with Christopher is in situations like this (vacations) and only when we absolutely have to. In three years, he has never slept in our bed, and after this weekend I am reminded of why!
Christopher was the ring bearer and both Matt and I were in the wedding. Christopher did a great job walking down he aisle with his pillow and handing it off to Matt. He had to sit with mom and dad during the wedding and at one point during mass, I heard-- "mommmmy"in his whisper voice and then "hey nana, cut the pickle" (a hand game Heather taught him). Matt was the best man and was a nervous wreck up until after he gave his speech at the reception. I don't even think he ate half of his plate at dinner! Christopher and him tore up the dance floor, and I tried the best I could! It's hard to be a great dancer when you are this pregnant! Christopher's favorite move was the run and slide across on his knees. I was a bridesmaid and thankfully Sara said we could wear whatever shoes we wanted- so comfy flip flops were my choice! I had my hair done and makeup and you know, I prefer the plainer things in life so when I saw myself with full on makeup and my hair all done, I was like OH CRAP, but everyone else said it looked beautiful. I guess for some events a ponytail just needs to be replaced! :)
I didn't have my phone on me very much this weekend- and not at all Saturday, so I have very few pictures. Thank you to everyone who sent them to me or posted on Facebook.

Christopher got to ride the bus back without mommy and daddy. He was supposed to ride in a car with Nana and Granddaddy... but Mr. Spoiled went with Raquel and sat next to his girl, Lea, and I am sure he talked her head off.

Avery was there! Christopher loved seeing her and holding her (for 4.5 seconds).

Goofing off with Eric after the wedding!

Sara and Anthony waiting for the gifts at mass.

Avery snoozing away at the after reception party. Her stroller proved to be a great cupholder!

Anthony and Sara hosted a Welcome Reception at the hotel the night before the dinner. These three are soooooooo loud together, yet sooooooo much fun!

Eric and Michelle after (almost) finishing their sushi boat.

Christopher and I on the way to the rehearsal.

The morning after the wedding. I couldn't wait any longer to get food. I made Matt get in bed with Christopher so I could go to eat.

This might be Christopher's favorite part of the wedding.... Rocco is here to stay with us for the week while the happy couple is honeymooning. I am hoping Christopher will learn a valuable lesson through all of this- When he tries to tell Rocco what to do and Rocco doesn't listen, he says to me "Mommy, Rocco's not listening to me," I just say "Welcome to my world."

Have a great week!
Be kind.

A Little Tribute to Pap

The blog today is going to be short... just doing a little tribute to Pap by putting some of my favorite pictures of Christopher and him. For those that don't know, my grandfather, Pap, passed away last night. Christopher is so lucky that he got to know and spend time with him. Living far away from family makes that difficult, but Pap came to visit a couple times and Christopher went down there last September. Christopher talked to Pap over FaceTime last week when mom and dad were down there. He told them his new joke (that he got from Cars) "When does an astronaut eat lunch? Launchtime!" He really liked the breathing tubes that Pap had in. The next day Christopher asked if Nana could pick him up from daycare and I told him that she left to go see Pap because he was sick. He informed me that the "doctor lady was talking to the other doctor  about Pap and she told him- FIX PAP!" I haven't had the heart yet to tell him.

Enjoy the pictures.

Despite being sad, this weekend will hold lots of happiness as Anthony and Sara get married and we can celebrate them and be with family.

More to come later.
Be kind!!
