First Day of Summer

It is officially summer! Well, I guess technically it's still Spring... but you know what I mean!!!! Christopher and I had a great day together! We did laundry- (I did laundry, he just lapped the downstairs a million times holding different things in both hands)- he napped while I had lunch on the back deck, laid out and read a book...

And then we were off to the pool.

Christopher and I swam... AKA stood around... in the big pool. Someone didn't want to get into his float and it was a lot easier with Matt there to pull his legs through. Thankfully a nice lady offered me some help! :)  After we were done in the big pool, we played in the kiddie pool with his sand bucket and some toys!

We ended the day with another good nap (after some decent nap fighting), dinner on the back patio and some playtime in the backyard!

And of course a bath.

It was a great first day of summer to say the least. Here are just a few more pics from the last few days.

Best picture of me and Christopher so far. I LOVE IT! I am surprised it turned out so well because my hand is around him because he was trying to escape from me- Matt got the picture just at the right moment!

Grocery shopping with a chocolate chip cookie from Publix!

And Christopher's version of the farmer walk. You should have seen him with these pots. How he managed walking with them is beyond me.

I just read my friend's blog and LOLed when I saw her picture of her daughter covered in stuffed animals in her chair. This is Christopher's. Matt had been pushing him around and thought he need some friends to ride with! Lisa- I hope you appreciate this picture!

Christopher and Matt. His shirt says Muscle Man. I love him in these tank tops! And.... the best news is he actually has a tan line and these shirts show that off! :) (Yes I use sunscreen.. intense baby sunscreen. In fact, I reapply it like every 30 to 45 minutes. But yes, he still gets his tan.)

Christopher kept calling Zoe "ki"- I guess she is small and black like Stroonz. He kept petting her and squatting down to talk to her. Kelly would have loved it! :)

I tried for a good picture! :)

I think that's it! Tomorrow is Saturday and it is going to be another beautiful day! Other than my workout tomorrow morning, we have NOTHING to do!! I love days like that- in fact, I imagine tomorrow will go pretty much like today went! :) Yay!

A Day of Firsts

When I became pregnant with Christopher, I kept telling Matt that I was going to become a runner after he was here. It's been a year and I am not a runner, but I do run more than I ever have before. In fact, Wednesday night I made it from my house to the end of the neighborhood and back- all for a total of a mile and a half. :) Quite the runner right?!?! Today Anthony and I ran a 5K. He had been trying to talk me into doing on for awhile and so when he called Tuesday night and said he found one with an obstacle course at the end- I couldn't say no- even though it was just 4 days away. Hence why I ran Wednesday night. I made it though and I ran the whole time! Therefore, I am absolutely exhausted.

Pre5K and Post5K- Yes, I wore makeup. I figured if I passed out and ended up in the hospital I wanted to at least look presentable.

Running by Matt and Christopher at the start of the race! You can see Anthony is nowhere to be found.

Eddie and I- post race. He didn't run but I convinced him to come along and watch!

Anthony and I- post race.

Christopher must have been beyond excited about this morning because he was up before our alarms went off. He normally does pretty good on the weekends with sleeping in a bit- not today! Needless to say, he made it to the race, but had to leave before the obstacle course started!

We went out to lunch after Christopher woke up from his morning nap. Here he is reading his Chester Raccoon book to us.

The boy loves some pizza. He will even eat it with peppers and onions and he loves pepperoni slices!

Christopher had a first today too! He made his first official trip to the pool! I took him last year a few times, but those trips don't count because all he did was sleep and lay in his stroller. Today he actually got to get in the kiddie pool and play around. He loved it!!! I couldn't get him to wear his PuddleJumper thing we bought so I am going to have to find something else for him to wear for "floaties"  - I saw some other kids in them but they looked a year or two older than he is. I made a quick run to CVS to see what they had and we got him this blow up boat looking thing which he could sit in and he seemed to like that. My plan is to hit up Target tomorrow morning to see what I can find him! Here is a video of him entering the pool for the first time! https://www.dropbox.com/s/v6c9eimby232vgi/Video%20May%2025%2C%202%2008%2047%20PM.mov

Facetiming with Nana to show her our first trip to the pool!

Looking up at Uncle Anthony!

Here is one more video from the week. Christopher and I went out to dinner with Dana Wednesday night! She decided to give him a lemon- I cannot believe that I had not given him one before! This video is a little longer than normal- but it is cute to see his faces! https://www.dropbox.com/s/z30l0u0dw462v4s/Video%20May%2022%2C%206%2014%2029%20PM.mov

And just a couple randoms....

Playing outside one morning at daycare.

Another day of picking out daddy's shoes! Christopher will only get to do this for 3 more days!! I think Matt is a little sad that Christopher won't be up when he goes to work over the summer, but we promised to come for lunch a few times.

And that's it! Hope everyone enjoys their long weekend!

Picture Time!

These pictures in this post are just way crazy out of order, but since it's only a week of pictures I don't think it will hurt too much. I feel like there for awhile I was not taking as many pictures as I could have been. It is much easier snapping pictures of a sitting or laying around baby, rather than a 1 year old running around the house- throwing toys in toilets when you forget the door is open or unloading groceries only to find that where you want to put the ice cream- there is now the remote control... or maybe a baseball bat that you were searching foris located  in the island where the pots and pans go. The plus side is Christopher also likes to pick up clothes and carry them places so today after school he picked up my pajamas and carried them to the laundry basket. They probably wouldn't have made it there til laundry day if he hadn't!

Ms. Jeanne got a water table for daycare! She got it last week and the kids had been playing with it in the house without water... but today they got to play with water!! I was so surprised when I walked in the back gate and there they all were- in their diapers playing in the water! Ms. Jeanne said Christopher "The Thinker" had to scope out the scene for a bit before he decided to take part in it!

Christopher looks so tiny!

After breakfast in the morning I bring Christopher back upstairs so I can finish up my makeup and we can say goodbye to Matt. Everyday this week Christopher has gone into the closet and come out carrying a pair of Matt's shoes!
Last Friday I had my teammates over for our end of the year third grade get together. My friend Ashley brought her two little girls with her. They had a blast in the tunnel together. I thought it was the little girls shrieking with happiness but then I realized it was Christopher. We practiced more manly shrieking all weekend.

Eating some puffs at the picnic table while the adults had drinks at the big table!

Little Miss AnnaLee. OHHHH..... is this one spunky! :)

I had no idea the enjoyment one could get out of an empty pizza box. I went to preheat the oven and I took the pizza out to see what to turn it to. I laid it down for Christopher to look at .... and he carried it around the downstairs (along with the dog food dish holder) the whole time the oven was preheating. I thought he was going to freak when it was time to get the pizza in the oven, but I carefully took the pizza out and he kept the box! Entertainment.

Another 20 minutes of uninterrupted entertainment.. a bucket of balls. I worked allllllll day Sunday on the word ball. I cannot even begin to tell you how many times I used this word in context. It took Matt like 3 tries to get Christopher to understand how to sneeze and I can't teach him to say the word ball?!?!?! At least he knows what a ball is- If I tell him to get me a ball, he gets it- but I want him to SAY IT!!!

And we are also working on using a spoon.... :) I think he is doing awesome! I mean, yes, I see the yogurt all over the place, but he is great at holding the spoon and knowing that it goes in the bowl and that you have to move the spoon in some way to get stuff on there, and that it then goes in the mouth.

YUMMMMMMMY.

Here he is with a spork. He was poking at his macaroni and cheese so hard this night trying to stab through them. I have started mixing his broccoli in with the mac and cheese and he is LOVING that.

Just like a man.

And here are some videos! :)

And in case you don't know... the school year is almost over. I am dead tired from a LOOOONNNGGG year, but I promise never to go more than a week again without blogging. Normally over breaks is when I do my best blogging, so summer is coming and lots more pictures and videos are on the way!! :)

Happy Mother's Day!

I completely ran out of gas yesterday so I apologize for not having a Sunday update ready! To be honest, I didn't even open up my laptop at all this weekend- to do anything, school or home related. That was kinda nice!

Yesterday was Mother's Day- my second. I was thinking how I couldn't even remember last year's Mother's Day because it seems like forever ago and said "What did we do?" But thankfully I have this wonderful blog and I knew exactly what we did! Christopher was fussy all day long. Well, a year later... and he was NOT fussy all day long! SUCCESS! It is amazing how much a little guy can change in one year!

Matt got Christopher out of his crib and went downstairs to get his present to me. I could see their shadows on the wall and heard Matt say "Walk this to mommy" and in toddled Christopher! I have been saying that I wanted a new bracelet to wear on a daily basis instead of my Pandora and I got the sweetest bracelet with a sideways cross on it. Perfect. Thanks to anyone who may have helped in finding that present.... :)

Matt asked me what I wanted to do to celebrate my day and I told him I wanted to go run the bleachers- like any normal mom would want. duh. That didn't happen unforunately, but we did hit up Swift Cantrell for a fun morning walk/run. Check out all this new outdoor workout equipment they got donated by Life University- Super cool! Christopher and I will definitely be here over the summer!

We came home and put Christopher down for his nap and I sat outside and read a book. Then when he woke up Matt took him to the store... so I got to sit outside some more and read a book!! I got my first burn on the front for the summer so I am officially pool and tan ready! After that, we played outside with our neighbors for a bit until it was time for Christopher's next nap. Plus the child needed some serious cleaning. Tiffany had gotten out the sidewalk chalk.... and of course Christopher sat in it, rolled in it, fell in it.....ate it. We had dinner on our new patio furniture and just enjoyed the rest of the evening! I will say Matt makes me feel appreciated everyday, so today wasn't too different from normal. :)

Here are some randoms!

Little Nicholas from across the street had shown me how to put together this toy we had been given, so after bathtime we had some playtime with it.

Chowing down!

Eating a bite of Daddy's pizza!

I know this isn't Christopher related... but it is McDill related so it counts! Hopefully you all knew it was Teacher Appreciation Week this past week and if you have kids I certainly hope you showed their teachers a little bit of love! Well, my favorite store was giving an additional discount if you showed your teacher badge... so I snapped this pic and sent it to Matt the morning of the sale so he could go! :) And it worked! I got 2 shirts and a cardigan.

He now prefers to open the tailgate and stand in it.

This picture is from last Monday when it rained its butt off here! We worked out downstairs in "Gym McDill" so Matt was on kid duty. This is Nicholas and Christopher playing together.

Helping daddy with the laundry on Friday. And yes I can honestly say just Daddy did the laundry. I was not only Friday tired... but Field Day Friday tired... which is ten times worse than Friday tired.

Watching tv with his daddy.

I can never get a good shot of the two of us!

And here is one random video of took Christopher this week, but please listen to it without sound. I am the loudest gum chewer there is. I have ruined so many cute videos because of it. However, I didn't take too many videos this week, so this is all you get! (My kids at school are going to be so disappointed. They love Christopher videos!)  https://www.dropbox.com/s/iyjbfvv9m5vsdmy/Video%20May%2008%2C%205%2041%2022%20PM.mov

Only 8 more days with children!!! And then summer!!!!!! (Well after 4 long days of post planning, but whatever, that involves a lot of socializing and eating lunch out!!)

Have a great week. I hope your weather is as beautiful this week as ours is going to be!
