Family Post

Dad always used to say "the family that ____ together, stays together" and he would fill it in with whatever he wanted us to do... prays together, eats together, laughs together, throws together, etc. Well, today, the family that runs together, stays together!

I am titling this Family Post because I am including some fun videos and pictures of Uncle Anthony's Tough Mudder. We had out 5K and Tot Trot this morning and then spent the rest of the day watching him run and do obstacles.... okay, maybe 5 minutes watching him and 3 hours waiting around for him in the scorching sun. :) But it was definitely worth it!

Enjoy the pictures!
Christopher got some new running shoes! Well, in all honesty, he just needed a light colored pair of tennis shoes for summer, but they shall double as his running shoes...  :)

After we all got done! Thank you Eddie for pushing Christopher so that Matt and I could run!

Matt and I placed first in our age divisions! (There weren't that many people there... I think we should find all the races like that. I like winning medals. I never would have thought at 32 I would win anything.... especially anything for running!)

Eddie and Christopher running to the finish line!

We got to see Anthony at an obstacle. I thought he would be all business but he seemed excited to see us and came over to chat!

Stepping in to the Funky Monkey.

I love his knee socks!

Waiting for Uncle Anthony to get to the last obstacle!!! We waited... and waited... and finally he came!

Anthony at the end of Family Feud I tried to throw these red buoys at him to knock him off but he didn't budge.
Christopher in the Tot Trot I think he took third. The two older boys won... but Christopher was the only one who went down in the ready position when they said "on your mark..."

And that's it! What a Saturday. I am spent and heading to BED. I offered Christopher $100 if he slept til 8 tomorrow. I guess we will see if he understands the concept of money yet.

 Have a great Sunday!
Be kind.

Daycare Fun- Easter Egg Hunt and Random Pics

Christopher had his Easter Egg Hunt at daycare yesterday! It was supposed to be on Good Friday, but it was a cold, rainy and miserable day here so it was moved to today. The downfall was that Nana and Granddaddy weren't here for it. I think Nana was really looking forward to going.

Last year I got a picture of Christopher in the same car. (see below) He was the only kid not wearing bunny ears. At least he got a face!

On the hunt. I carried around his basket and said "more eggs!"

I am not quite sure of the look here- but I love it.

Christopher with his buddies. Christopher is always outside playing with the big kids when I pick him up and he loves to say bye to Charlie! When we get there Luke is already at Ms. Jeanne's and Christopher calls him "uh-loo" I laugh every time I hear it.

The first one out. He wasn't first in line so I am not quite sure he managed to be first. I guess the other kids were just a little slow. The door opened- Christopher yelled "Outside!" and out he went.

And now some random pics from daycare...

Christopher and Elliot holding hands at lunch. If only Christopher had sat this nicely at dinner with him...

I think this picture says it all. Look at that content look on Christopher's face. I was at the Easter Egg Party for about an hour and a half and I think I heard Christopher say "Mark" to get his attention about 100 times. You teachers know what that is like... it's like when you never, ever want to hear your name again. Poor Mark. At least it is out of love.

The big kids (and Christopher tagging along) waiting to go outside! He thinks he is so old.

And that's it!
Have a great Wednesday! Pray for us... tomorrow starts the CRCT!
Be kind.

Big Things Happening Here

So much has gone on the past week.
1. Kate came to visit and Christopher was none too happy about her arrival. The first thing he said to her was "my mommy" like she was going to steal all of my attention. I, however, was super excited to see her. I think by the time she was leaving he had started to warm a little. I think she just needs to move here after college so he will be more used to her. :) Kate brought Christopher a big book of Disney Junior stories which he was so excited about it and he got his first Florida State t-shirt for next football season.
2. Nana and Granddaddy came to visit the day Kate left. They stayed for a week. They went house shopping on Monday, made and offer on Wednesday, and close on May 9th! :) We are all very excited about that!
3. Christopher turned 2 on Thursday. We didn't do a party this year- just a little get together that night with family and some neighbors. Christopher quite enjoyed opening his presents.
4. Christopher also got a big boy room Wednesday! :) You may remember the video of him seeing it all painted. Well, Nana and Granddaddy spent the better part of Wednesday getting his bed all put together. We haven't quite finished hanging everything but he is definitely loving his room, especially his chalkboard wall!
5. Today we went to church with our neighbors. We haven't been since Christmas. (Does that make us "Chreasters"???) I am sure that will change once mom and dad move here, but we gladly accepted the invitation and took Christopher to church. (Last night, we took Christopher out to dinner with his buddy Elliot and he was a maniac so you can only imagine the nerves I was feeling walking in to church.) Thankfully, Christopher was awesome. He sat with us and pretended to sing and after the children's sermon, they called the kids to the front and off he went- took Ms. Toni's hand and was off. He didn't even look back. I do think I heard a "bye, mommy, bye" as he got to the door to leave. Needless to say, it was the most peaceful church service I have been to since Christopher was born.
6. We went to Christopher's well checkup on Friday. He has gained 3 inches in 6 months. The only question I had for the doctor was about his sleeping because since we have been back from the beach, he hasn't been sleeping that great. I think it's because we shared a king bed there. Before that Christopher has only been in our bed to watch cartoons while we are doing stuff for work. Now I think he realizes that he technically could sleep with us so he wakes up early and wants us. Hopefully it is just a phase and "this too shall pass." The doctor answered me with,  "Well, he needs to be on a routine with a good schedule and a set bedtime." I wanted to jump out of my chair but I know the doctor doesn't know me from the next person, so I explained to her that he does have a routine and we stick to it- in the nicest way possible. (And if you know me well enough you know there is a routine in our house and how I feel if we deviate from it.)

And those are all of our big things.. I think that's all of them anyway! Enjoy the pics!
Heading to the park last weekend to play with Uncle Mark and Aunt Cindy!

Leaving the park. Thankfully this is tired face and not mad face.

We had our neighborhood egg hunt last weekend!

I had to coach him a lot.

PUT IT IN YOUR BASKET!! HURRY! GET MORE EGGS!
(You know I am competitive.)

We put together Christopher's table for his room. We have had this table since before he was born. We saw it and had to buy it and finally gave it to him.

Loving some rice cakes... aka popcorn. :)
Today we took off the box spring to Christopher's bed. It was so super high with it. He couldn't get into bed with the railings when it was that high.

This is Christopher's chalkboard wall with his Braves table. We had the shelf built for his stuffed animals.. and eventually all of his trophies he will win. :) (I am aware that we may need a bigger shelf.)

This was the Easter Egg Hunt after church. Christopher is right in the middle.. and heading right for that big pile of dirt.

After the egg hunt. See my dress? Matt came home with it one day after work. I know. He is the best. He went to my favorite little shop after work one day and surprised me.
Christopher's weight bench from Uncle Anthony. He likes to say he is "workin' it."

Not sure why it is sideways but he loved the icing on his cupcake!

Sideways again?!?! His new Nemo toys.

This was Christopher the first night in his new bed. He was soooo excited!

See how high the bed was?!?! Definitely better lower.

He got a jigsaw and lots of tools from Nana and Granddaddy. I think they hope to start Christopher off as a handyman since his mommy and daddy certainly aren't.

His birthday picture at daycare!

Workin it.

Thank you Miss Tiffany for my birthday balloon!

Building with Nana. I am trying to figure out what toys are going to Nana's house. It is time to get rid of some!

And now for the videos... which I don't know how many I have.
getting to see his new room
workin' it

That's it! Hope everyone has a great week!! :)
Be kind.

I Want It, I Want It

I think I may regret always asking Christopher "Do you want it?" because now it's "I want it. I want it." about everything!!! I don't even get the opportunity to ask him that anymore.

Christopher is getting so much better with having conversations too. Today we talked about the fun he had at school. I was asking him if he had fun and he started saying some of the kids names and using the word fun and friend. It was so cute!

I love watching the way his little brain works. He grabbed the measuring tape today and went to the bottom of the stairs and said "my room" and was pulling out the measuring tape. Now to you, this might make no sense, but Sunday we were in Christopher's room and Mark was using the measuring tape to measure Christopher's walls. We didn't go upstairs and measure walls, but we did measure arms and legs and fingers!

I have quite a few pictures and videos to share so I will leave the rest of the talking to the pictures!

I just thought Christopher looked so cute this day in his little shorts and tennis shoes. We were on our way to pick out paint colors for his room. Little did I know how much he would love all those little paint strips. YIKES.

Christopher was taking his blocks and stacking them...

and this was his victory dance after he would knock them down.

A gorgeous Thursday afternoon at the park!

He tossed the hat after like 15 minutes... therefore he got lots of sunscreen in that hair.

He looks like such a tough guy in his tank tops.

Christopher is holding his "car" (otherwise known as his boo boo buddy). If he gets hurt, he asks for his car and miraculously within seconds he is all better. In this picture he is icing his knee... right before it, he was icing the other knee. Whatever works.

Christopher and daddy got their hair cut on Friday.

Christopher woke up from his nap on Saturday and I brought him in my room and he was back asleep like this within minutes.

Going for a wagon ride with daddy!

We stopped at Starbucks and Christopher got a cake pop. I am pretty sure he loved it.

Trying to measure mommy's nose.

Checking out the numbers... 4. 7. 9. 9. 5.

And now some videos..
Christopher likes to race!
He has been all about some Toy Story 3 lately... and his favorite part is when Ken and Barbie kiss. See if you can figure out when that happens.
First day at the ocean. He is definitely a little wobbly this day.
We got Christopher's room painted. I was waiting in his room so that I could record his reaction. Listen closely. I think I may have gotten tears in my eyes.

Have a great rest of the week! We have an Easter Egg Hunt Saturday as long as Christopher doesn't nap through it, Kate comes Friday and mom and dad come Monday!
