Our Week

My friend Katie told me when she reads the blog she doesn't read it first- she always scrolls through and looks at the pictures- so this post is for her. I tried to include lots of pictures because if that's what my reader wants- then here you go, Katie!

I often give Uncle Anthony this same look.

We FINALLY got Matt a car seat for his car and let Christopher go forward facing in it. The doctor said to try to make it to as close to 2 as you can with him rear facing so that is what he is in my car since that's what we take everywhere, but since Matt's is smaller we went forward in his. Of course, he is still in the middle though because I am a crazy worrier. We also bought it because Nana is coming with her car in a week and we can just easily put this one in her car so she can have one when she is here!

Christopher likes to walk with his hands behind his back... alot. I think it makes him look smart.

Tuesday I had some of my friends over from school! They brought their kids and Christopher had a blast trying to keep up with the big kids. They also had a blast with all the baby toys! The girls loved Christopher's pickup truck. And he was a really good sharer with it!

He wanted to play Don't Break the Ice with the girls. The games with Christopher around ended within seconds :)

I have found that Christopher will eat better if I give him a fork- and not a baby fork. I have been giving him a real fork because it actually goes through the food that he is stabbing. He does really well with it...

He was reluctant to eat his grilled cheese... until he could stab it!

Christopher is checking out my new project. I was unsure if it could withstand the Christopher test but it did! He yanked and pulled and it is still hanging! I wanted a way to change out pictures of him so I got ribbon, wrapped the door, mod podged some clothespins, printed some of the Instagram pics and there we go! I think I am going to get Christmas ribbon and do it on the cabinets for when Christmas cards start rolling in!

Playing on the slide at daycare!

Christopher was being a real food snob this night so I ended up just dumping cottage cheese in a bowl and he went to town!

This is the book Christopher wanted to read before bedtime! It's one of those touch and feel books- right now he is poking the eyeballs.

Christopher and I had the best afternoon on Friday! My neighbor Jennifer came over and we set up all of Christopher's toys out back and even got out the boogie boards! Talk about super fun. Check out Christopher on the boogie board here!

He was up and down, up and down on the slide too. I should have bought a baby pool to go at the bottom.

He was splishing and splashing with his water tables too, but doesn't it look like he is blowing a kiss in this one? Watch him splashing here!

Hey Angie! Yes sometimes he calls me Angie. Punk. I answer, I mean it is my name and all but I do say MOMMY very loudly and point to myself.

The Rogers family came over Friday night for dinner. Someone looks pooped. It's probably because he has refused to take an afternoon nap all week but whatever.

I know most of you saw this on Facebook but this is for all you non Facebookers! It only took 3 pictures to do this BUT it was a lot of direction giving to Matt- over- over- down just a little- to the left- stop flexing- :). :)

Saturday was crummy weather so our day of backyard fun with the Larkins was a little tainted, but we tried. Today of course is gorgeous and Mama Larkins is working. :(  Austin and Christopher had fun though- however, I think Austin got bit by something based on that scratching! :) I grabbed my camera and took this picture because Christopher was being a good sharer and trying to give Austin the toys. He also tried to feed him his yogurt bar.

Look at my fish!

And here was breakfast today! Yogurt and strawberries!

That't it! I go back to work on Wednesday!! OH MY GOSH what a fast summer! Christopher isn't going to daycare til Wednesday so we can spend our time together. Kate comes tomorrow night!! WOOT WOOT! We have to have lunch with Matt one more time too so I guess that is Tuesday afternoon. Have a great week!

Videos!

I realized that I hadn't uploaded any photos or videos from my phone for July so I spent a few minutes last night going through the 547 from July. Here are some short videos that I had not shared yet!

Playing in the sand  Christopher was very into throwing sand. Cute this year.... Next year he will get in trouble for sure.

Passing sand It's very difficult to pass sand.

In the water with daddy The waves were pretty strong the last day and if they didn't come in fast enough- Christopher would walk out for more!

Vacuuming Not the most thrilling video, but a really good vacuum job! See- he obviously learned that from somewhere.

Instagram video- My little hockey player!

Instagram video- Noise maker. I don't know how I got him to do any of these noises with Uncle Anthony around. Not his best showing, but I'll take it under the circumstances.

Back to Routine

Christopher and I have settled back down into our normal routine. He went to daycare Monday and Wednesday this week. You should see all the new stuff that there is at daycare! Christopher was genuinely excited when he went in and saw the new slide that Ms. Jeanne got! I am sure he didn't leave it all day on Monday and then one of the older kids showed him all of the cool things the slide had to offer on Wednesday. He learns so much while he is there! And his buddy Austin started there on Monday too!

Here they are having their first lunch together. I am sure Christopher sneaks Austin all of his veggies (unless it's broccoli).

And here is a great picture of the new slide! Luke (in red) showed Christopher all the ins and outs! Mr. Mark was changing a light bulb.... apparently that is mind boggling to little ones!

And now all of the pictures from the week! I am going to do my best to put them in time order....
A storm came out of nowhere Monday evening. We had all gone outside to workout... and the thunder started. Christopher wanted to play in the rain so we let him stand in it for a few seconds.. until the loud thunder came!

Attempting to crawl out the front of the truck. He almost figured it out.

Helping mommy get up all the crumbs under his seat.

Trying to vacuum up his toys.

YAY! Daddy's home! I try so hard to let Christopher wait for Matt to get home to eat... but he is normally ready to eat (and so am I) at 6... and Matt gets home a little later than that. We do sit there while Matt eats, though, so at least we are all there together.

Pepperoni rolls for lunch!!

I have no idea what caused this... He was quite content sitting here as you can tell from the picture below. I am sure I did something to make him mad!

Before the storm.

We had our 15 month checkup on Friday!! Of course the nurse forgot to give us his packet with stats/percentiles on it- but I do know that he is 31 and a quarter inch tall..... weighs 23 lbs and 14 ounces... and they say his head hasn't gotten larger, but I beg to differ because we no longer have hats to wear to the pool because he has outgrown them.

I was trying to sweep... but what a great distraction the broom was for him! 20 minutes of nonstop play!!

Miss Dana came over Friday night to watch Christopher! Matt and I went to dinner at Taco Mac (Matt was so excited because he could eat wings- I always tell him he can't because what if he gets that spiciness in C's mouth) and then we went to BJs and Target. Fun date night, right? It actually was and I know Christopher had a great time. He kept taking Dana's hand and leading her all around the house. At one point he took her hand and led her to the stairs because he wanted to go play in his room! So cute! Christopher chowed down on some chicken nuggets, black beans.... and apparently a buttload of strawberries!

Hey cowboy!!

And that was our week! The boys are at the 311 concert, Christopher is asleep and I have some Real Housewives to catch up on!! :)

Only 1 more week of summer.......

Final Beach Post

Well, we are home from the beach. I took TONS of pictures the last day to document Christopher's final day at the beach. I realized that I had very few of him actually playing, so mom and I snapped away!

Eat your chicken so we can go to the beach! I think I said this 50 times. We needed maximum sun exposure for the last day!
Our family pic. Classic right. Did you want a khaki pants and white shirt pic?

Hanging on to Nana!

Playing in the sand. There was a foot dropoff when we went this day. Christopher liked kneeling at the bottom and throwing himself onto the sand.

He also enjoyed digging in the dropoff. It was more of a rolling hill when he was done.

We decided to bury Granddaddy's feet for fun.
Christopher liked when his toes would pop out so he could say "tickle, tickle" which comes out more like "ticka, ticka".

Getting more sand!

Snack time- see the drop off? No fear though. He tried to step off many times.

Playing in the waves with Daddy.

Ahhh. Can we stay forever?

Hehe. Crossword puzzle anyone? Someone felt he was dark enough already, hence the shirt. Maybe he wanted to be like Christopher.

Taking a break. The beach is hard work!

Me and Dad!

Raquel, Sharon, Mike and Francesca came to visit on our last night. Christopher loved playing with their jewelry!

He also loved playing in his tunnel with Francesca!!

And this is our car ride home. Christopher started it off by eating his toes. Maybe he was looking for some sand.

Christopher got his first Brew Thru shirt while we were there! Thankfully there aren't any beer bottles on it!

Cheersing with Granddaddy at dinner!
Isn't that cute? Francesca just sent it to me- just in time to be added to the blog!

And that's it! Christopher went back to daycare today. He hasn't been in over two weeks so I am sure he is just having a blast there this morning!
