Sunny Sunday

What a beautiful day today was! Unfortunately, duty called for Matt and he had to do some work stuff today so he missed it.... but Christopher and I had a blast with the gorgeous weather. I kept waiting and waiting and waiting for him to wake up from his nap. I knew that if I made myself a drink and gathered up papers to grade on the porch, he would surely wake up because I was trying to be productive.. and he did 5 graded papers into it. I should know better than to tell him he will go outside and see if Austin could play. Let's just say it wasn't the easiest diaper change and clothing swap.
The boys did sidewalk chalk, rode cars, drove cars, ran down the hill a zillion times, tickled each other with pine needles... and lots more!

Julie had invited us over for dinner Saturday night! I couldn't wait to go- Julie is such a good cook; I was so excited to see what she had made for our yummy dinner. Christopher was very into the arcade game that she had. He did try to use it as a touch screen but Matt helped him figure it out. And Julie has a cat..... and boy did Christopher pay the cat major attention .

Playing the game. We kept trying to get him to stand on the chair but he opted for the splits position.

Ms. Julie helping him play.

And the rest of the random pictures I had on my phone...

Looking at daddy like he is crazy.

Coloring at dinner. This boy can color. It's all he wants to do.

Another successful dinner at Guston's. He loves their grilled cheese!

Christopher got a yummy cookie from Miss L's Friday after school.

Hanging out with the big kids.

King Christopher

Ready... set... go! Running down the hill.

Christopher was being so sweet to Stroonz. Well, in his own way... Stroonz had been sleeping peacefully in the chair and Christopher decided he needed a blanket and Dine to sleep with. Stroonz got up and moved from place to place and Christopher continued to follow him around to give him his blanket and Dine. I think Stroonz was quite thankful when I opened the door and let him out of the room.

Christopher stole my banana after my run!

I have no idea how we made it up this thing without falling. I just kept pushing Christopher's butt and praying I didn't slip down. I do think I may look a little more scared than him!

Tiffany and I after our 5K. We both won medals in our age division. I got silver and she got bronze!

And a few pictures from Valentines Day at daycare...

The curls come with the heat. Ever since we got his hair cut, it curls like crazy.

So very excited!

Following Gia's lead!

Probably trying to destroy his valentine bag.

All the sweet little kiddos at daycare! (minus the babies)

That's it! Have a great week!

Happy Valentine's Day.... a few days late.

All of our days off are over and it is back to the grind. Christopher is having a hard time getting back on his schedule. 5:45 a.m. was not his friend the first day back.... and I think his friends at daycare may have felt the ramifications of that. It's not even like we kept him up late over break. I think the longest he stayed up was the very first night and that was like 8:45.  Every other night he was in bed at his normal time. He did get to sleep in though and didn't have daddy waking him up when he was in his deep sleep... and he doesn't want to nap- which means he has to go to bed earlier than normal, which means less playtime with daddy. He already only gets like an hour to play with Matt and now it is even less. When we put Christopher down at night now he likes to say "Lu- Lou" which is his take on "love you" ... kinda like "thank you" is more like "tank ting." I especially love when he tries to imitate the inflection of our voice that we use.  I guess that makes putting him down early a little sweeter. Hopefully he gets adjusted and back on his normal sleeping schedule next week....

And on to the fun...PICTURE TIME!

Eating an éclair that daddy brought home for after dinner on Valentine's Day!

Opening his card.... and pressing the button to hear Elmo tell him he loves him!

Ready to open his Valentine's present!

Heading down to Uncle Anthony's reading Mickey.

Dinner with Anthony and Sara at Antico! YUM. Christopher liked watching them make the pizzas while we were waiting for a table.

We went next door for a little gelato afterwards. Christopher enjoyed sharing with everyone. I think he liked Anthony's pistachio and Matt's cannoli the best. #thatsanitaliannose

Christopher celebrated Valentine's Day at daycare on Wednesday. Here is the bag that he decorated to put his treats in.

Here is the valentine that Christopher gave to his friends.

I have been seeing this Citrus Lane thing on Facebook for forever now and I was just dying to try it! We got out first box this week. Basically you get a box a month filled with goodies.  In this box there was a stock pot with a ladle and spatula (to enhance pretend play which Christopher totally started stirring and slurping), a silicone plate, a big board book and some organic apple hand cream for me! :) I didn't realize there would be something for me tucked in there!!

And 2 quick videos...
feeding his friends (Obviously not his real friends- he is a good pretender)
being goofy with his kitty (this kitty caused quite a problem the first day back at daycare... just another thing that set him off that morning)

And that's it! Hope everyone has a happy Friday!

No More Snow!

We all thought Snowjam was it for us (and how I wished it was!), but here we are 2 weeks later and we have been hunkered down for the last 3 days. Crazy. First the ice came... and then last night the snow came and it was in and out within hours. We went outside to play at like 9:30 and it looked like this...

And literally an hour or so later... it looked like this-
Do you see the wet ground behind them? I have never seen snow melt so quickly! Nicholas was nice enough to let Christopher and Austin sit in his truck. Probably because he knew that they couldn't figure out how to drive it!

Here are a few pictures of our snow day.

The Prince Family

The Larkins Family

Christopher riding on the boogie board. If you remember blog posts from the summer, we used to drag Christopher around on the boogie board in the backyard when he was in his bathing suit!

Our house this morning. It was quite scary listening to the ice and snow fall off the house today.

I would say I was pretty happy when the snow melted away. Christopher enjoyed being pulled around and was throwing snow at Matt and eating it at the beginning. Once everyone came outside though, he kinda shied away from it all. The snow starting melting and walking in the slush and riding in the truck seemed much more appealing. I am so thankful Mom told me to put baggies on his feet. I put socks on him and then sandwich sized baggies and then his tennis shoes. Worked like a charm.

And here are the pictures from the past few weeks!

Just got up from his nap. He needed to bring "Dine" and his blankets down with him. Christopher likes to wake up slowly most days.

Christopher decided he needed his helmet on for playing inside. And then we colored...

and colored and colored...

We had Tuesday off from school for the ice... Well, the ice didn't come til the nighttime but we did get some pretty snow to watch in the morning.

Getting ready to go to bed. I looked over and both of them had their fingers in the mouths.

I got my first toy injury. I was going over to play with Christopher and his new trains and when I sat down my knee went straight into a piece of train track. Definitely hurt and I definitely have a cut on my knee from it.

Looking snazzy in his shirt from Uncle! Daddy has almost the same exact shirt. I wonder when they will be twinnies?

Christopher decided that the bowl I gave him for his cranberries just wasn't big enough.

Helping daddy put together his chair.

Well, he likes to color. What can I say? I would never let him do this but the crayon literally wiped right off. He was happy, Matt and I could talk so it was a good dinner out!

Cuddling up for bedtime. I seem to get a lot of pics of Christopher before he goes to bed. He just looks so stinking cute.. and he is actually still.

K-cup stealer (video link)
Christopher had just got done taking 4 K-cups and managed to stack them perfectly. They aren't the easiest things to stack. I thought he might do it again so I took a video. He didn't stack them, but I do quite enjoy watching him picking things up and tucking them in to his chest.

The other night Matt brought Christopher down to the basement while I was working out. I was doing wall climbs and Christopher was watching... I look over tonight and he is doing this repeatedly. Of course I video the one where he topples over all awkwardly. He hasn't figure out how to walk his hands back out quite yet!

Kate came to visit last weekend. I can't believe I don't have a single picture of her and Christopher. Christopher was a little put off by Kate being here on Saturday. Matt and I had plans for Saturday morning which left Kate in charge of him and he was fine, but the rest of the day he just kept saying "no, no, no" to her. Thankfully, he changed his attitude on Sunday and was much more loving. I think when I threatened him that she would no longer come back, he got his act together.

We are hoping granddaddy actually makes it in tomorrow. He has a layover in Baltimore where there is tons of snow... but so far his flight is still on!

Impromptu Winter Break

During "Snowjam" as Atlantans are calling it, Christopher got a cold- the low grade fever, snotty, sneezy, phlegmy cough kind of cold. Not to be confused with the runny nose from teething, which thankfully is the most C normally gets. I thought, oh, maybe we will have a few days of snuggling on the couch and long naps while we are off for Snowjam. HA. See picture below....

You can't hold him down. Maniac.. all the time. Our living room always looks like this, but I thought maybe since he wasn't feeling all that great it would look a little cleaner most days...

Needless to say I think Christopher had a great mini-staycation even though I am sure he missed his friends! This morning he used his hand as a phone and said... Jeana! Mar! Elliot! Guess he is ready to see his buddies!

Christopher couldn't decide between water or apple juice so he carried both cups around and drank from both. He had just woken up from his nap here and was enjoying a little Toy Story.

Goofing around.

And Christopher finally got a haircut. I couldn't decide if I wanted to take him to a kiddie haircut place or to SportsClips where they have sports on all the time. My theory was if he hates it, he is going to hate it whether he is sitting in a train/plane/car or in a chair.  No kiddie places were open so our decision was easy.
He didn't want the cape on and he wanted to sit in daddy's lap. I think he would have sat fine if she hadn't tried to put the cape on. It freaked him out a little but once Matt sat there he was okay.  The girl was like - What do you want me to do? I'm like, I don't know. Cut it? I explained to her that I wanted it to be short, but not too short and she was not to give him a combover.

Yes, we definitely brought Despicable Me.

She attempted this- my hands immediately messed that hair up!

Hope everyone is enjoying the Super Bowl and has a great week!
