Last Day of Summer Vacay!

This is how Christopher spent much of his last day...

Everyone is back to normal schedule tomorrow. At least for a couple of weeks. I am scheduled for another C-section on August 27th so our normal schedule will change again. Christopher had his Big Brother class at the hospital on Saturday. He learned the 4 important rules of being a big brother- washing your hands, not touching the baby's face, asking permission to hold the baby, and one more... hopefully he can remember it since I can't. He learned how to swaddle a baby, correctly hold a baby, and change the baby's diaper. Here are a few shots of his class.

Playing Peek-a-Boo

We tried to get a family shot- but Matt got cut out and Christopher wouldn't pay attention.

When he got his baby doll.

I think this might be rule 4- Don't put anything on the baby's face. Maybe.

Watching a video called Super Sibling. Of course anything that relates him to a superhero would capture his interest.

And some randoms of our last few weeks....

Hanging out at Uncle's pool.

Climbing a tree with Uncle Mark.

Helping mommy put together a puzzle.

We got to spend some time with Elliot on Friday. Christopher and I went over in the morning and the boys played in E's pool in the backyard, destroyed the playroom and ate lunch together.

Christopher came out of the bathroom carrying this, asking us if we wanted to pet his new puppy. Elliot had a dog and I think this was Christopher's way of getting his own dog. When we were over there, Elliot would play with his dog and take his chew toy and that would upset Christopher a lot. He would get bossy and chase Elliot to give the dog his chew toy back. I am pretty sure Christopher might be an animal lover.

Reading a book with daddy at night. We always tell parents to make sure they are reading 20 minutes a night and the other day I actually read to him for 20 minutes- it was A LOT of books! We normally read one or two and call it a night, but now we try to do at least 3-4.

Playing on his iPad on the way to Uncle's house. Ms. Jeanne gave him homework to take his iPad to show Uncle Anthony his new ABC game that we downloaded.

Nana was out of town for 2 weeks!! Granddaddy had to step in and help with bath time one night.

I think the last time I blogged I wrote how we painted pottery- Here is Christopher with his finished product! We went back again this week because I wanted to do an alligator for the nursery, he painted a Ninja Turtle.

Pretending to take a nap with Buzz.

And finally some videos...

And that's it. We were just talking to Christopher about how he was going to have wake up super early because everyone has to go to work tomorrow and he said "I have to go to work too. I have to learn my letters. I'm going to miss you while I am at work."  :(

Have a great week!

Summer Fun!

Just some pictures from the last few weeks!

This was the best shot of me and Christopher that we could get on the Fourth of July-not quite sure about his little leg kick there. I wanted Matt to be sure to get in all of our America gear in the background.

We went to the Kennesaw fireworks- but instead of going to the actual place, we parked in a church parking lot and watched what we could over the trees and actually had a great view of the fireworks going off behind us as well, which were great! We got in our pajamas, popped some popcorn and toys and waited for the show to start.

Christopher created a new game called "Simple Rock." Basically he gets rocks for you and him and you toss them to a base (wherever he decides the base is) and then he hops to pick them up... and if you don't do so great- he looks at you and says - YOU NEED TO FOCUS.

He let Granddaddy play too. How nice.

Granddaddy taught Christopher how to do bicycles.

Helping daddy was his car.

This is Caleb's room- I still need to get the glider we had for Christopher back from my parents, but the room is pretty much together.

My friend Heather helped make these for the green wall...

She made me one more strand for the top left corner. Right now I have them taped up there so I could see how I liked it and the placement- once mom returns home from Florida we will get them up there for good.

Making something for daddy of course-

The car he created- pretty cool huh?

This is what 25 stickers on your chore chart gets you. Christopher has to make his bed, get himself dressed, put his dishes on the sink, be good at Ms. Jeanne's, put his clothes away and clean up his toys. He gets the most stickers for putting his dishes on the sink and making his bed. Sometimes he gets a bonus sticker if he helps with laundry. It definitely takes some time to earn 25.

This morning we went to the pottery place and painted with our neighbors. Christopher painted this cool jet.

And then of course we had to have lunch with daddy. Since I go back to work after next week, I figured we should have one final lunch down there for the summer. Christopher was getting out of the car and said "Mommy, I need my iPad. I got to show all the girls my new game." I am pretty sure they were more impressed with his one armed pushups than his game.

We don't go anywhere without a bag of Legos.

Chillaxing.

And my latest project! These are my banners for my standards boards... I can't believe school starts so soon!

That's it!

Celebrations

Matt and I celebrated our 8 year anniversary yesterday. Like last year, we celebrated it by going out to dinner with Anthony and Sara this past weekend. I had been wanting to go to Social Vinings to try it out. That is where Sara and Anthony are having their rehearsal dinner so we went there and Christopher enjoyed an evening with Nana and Granddaddy. He loves getting baths with Nana.- probably because she lets him swim around and play until he is pruny.

Christopher has been going through a phase where he is having a horrible time going to sleep on his own. He wants someone to lay with him, sing him a song, etc. I miss the days of him laying in bed with Dine for a few minutes and then falling asleep, but this too shall pass and he will be back to normal soon enough (I hope!). As much as I don't mind painting his face or singing Rudolph (his requested song) I do miss sitting on the couch with Matt and just vegging out.

I read this article "How to tell if you have a Threenager" and you may remember my post awhile back called My Threenager. Well, the other day I saw it in full force. We were on our way from Ms. Jeanne's to my parents and I got in the lane to get on the interstate. We are literally on the interstate for less than 30 seconds to get there. NOOOOOOOOOO!!! I DON'T LIKE THE INTERSTATE. DON'T GET ON THE INTERSTATE. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU GET TO NANA'S. By the time he was done yelling about interstate, we were off the interstate and I was like WOW. And he was back to normal. I did remind him that to get to Disney you have to get on the interstate- to which he replied- No, we get on an airplane. Yikes.

Enjoy the pictures!

We are taking care of our neighbor's cat for the week- I forget how much Christopher loves animals (especially little ones like cats and Sara's little dog, Luke). I told him when we went over there he needed to give the cat lots of lovin' and he certainly did. I had thought Stroonz was out of his mind, but every now and then he says something about missing him, how long will he be in heaven, is daddy bringing him home after work- that reminds me that he still remembers.

Nana and Christopher are growing a sweet potato plant. We bought a sweet potato from a farmer's market and this is what has happened to it- it has grown a super long root and leaves at the top. Christopher likes to check it out when he goes over there. (Do you see the Magic Band on the table? He puts it on and asks to go to Disney Junior.)

Yesterday evening we had the perfect "dance in the rain" storm- no lightning or thunder, just lots of squeals and laughter.

Matt got home from work around 5:45- we loaded the car with pizza and drinks and headed to the park for a picnic. I thought I was going to die when Matt was at the top and pulled out his phone to take a selfie.

I certainly do miss playing at the park with him. I am just a bystander now.

Sunday we went to the pool at like 9:30. We were the only ones there for a long time. Christopher and Matt had a great time together dumping freeeeeezing cold water on their heads. (It was only 68 degrees when we got there, so you can imagine how cold the water in the kiddie pool was!)

Granddaddy's birthday was yesterday so Christopher and I went over the night before to help make the cake. Granddaddy always wants a chocolate cake with walnuts- Christopher wanted sprinkles and marshmallows on his part.

Helping to crack the eggs... not a fan of yolk on his hands.

But he did love licking the mixers.

Happy birthday!

Christopher asked Nana where the candle was- well Nana's birthday candles were at our house so Granddaddy had to blow out a giant candle.

Loving that chocolate icing!

I gave Christopher some paint and a canvas....

and he worked to create this! I had to help him fill in the white spots and do the border, but Christopher worked super hard to create this for Caleb's room. He still has one more to do, but that toddler attention span only allowed for one at a time.

That's all folks!
Have a safe and happy Fourth of July!
